What a wicked, sick night for Buckeye Wrestling. Great showing by JD, I guess stalling doesn't count in NCAA finals. Bottom line is that Fox was just too damn big.

What these kids accomplished tonight was incredible. As impressive to me as our 2002 FootballChampionship and finals appearance in Hoops last year. As good as this feels, I expect things to only get better. If Coach of the Year voting happened tonight, Coach Ryan wins hand down.

Thanks for the great run guys. You're gonna turn Buckeye fans that don't really follow wrestling into huge wrestling fans!! Kudo's!!!!!!!

The only thing that saved Fox on the stalling call was when he turned back in and went after JD for like 4 seconds.....

I have never heard so much talk from the ref's as I did tonight.

Coach Ryan appears to have awakened the sleeping giant.

Wow, what a tourney for the Buckeyes! Great, great time!

I was flipping out when I saw Palmer almost beat Metcalf, that was so awesome. I cannot believe Metcalf got out of it.

Out of curiousity, how did the rest of the Buckeyes do? I cannot seem to find it.

Great job Bucks, second place as a team, four All Americans, two National Champions and a National Runner up, outstanding effort by the Staff and the whole squad.

Way to go Bucks, I agree, it looks like coach Ryan may have awakened the Giant

O-Zone:
3/22/2008 - NCAA Tournament Day 3 - With less than 30 seconds remaining and leading 5-1 Jaggers suffers a severe ankle injury. After a two minute injury time out he is able to continue and finish the match for the win and the national championship.

Senior heavyweight J.D. Bergman was an NCAA runner-up and sophomore Lance Palmer finished eighth, giving the Buckeyes four All-Americans for the second-consecutive year. As a team, Ohio State finished second with 79 points. The second-place finish is the best standing for the Buckeyes in program history. Ohio State's previous best was third (tie) in 2004.

The Buckeyes never have had three finalists in the NCAA championships. In 1993, the Scarlet and Gray advanced two wrestlers to the finals in 1993 national champion and two-time All-American Rex Holman and two-time national champion and three-time All-American Kevin Randleman. Ohio State and Iowa were the only programs in the 2008 edition of the championships to qualify three finalists.

Cont'd ...
