Hoping like heck that JD has a TD in him for tomorrows finals, then can somehow go "Urban Cowboy" on Fox's big'ol hoss-ass. That is a big fella there, but if somwhow JD can lock in early, he may get into Fox's head. More than likely, 3 points will win this match. I'm just totally jacked over what these kids have done.

Agreed, the score WILL be 3-1... lets hope JD has the 3!

Also, I dont have scores for 3rd or below... I do know we ended the night in 2nd.
Iowa 102pts 3 finalists
OSU 71pts 3 finalists

Big Boys need to send out an invite to sparky as a "mod" or even "adm" for this wrestling site. I don't know how he does it, but his info is faster than any web site I can google.

Thanks for all the updates, I get off work at 9:00pm tomorrow but will rush home to watch the finals. This team is incredible, and sparky gets the info here in amazing fashion.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah thanks Sparky!!

The team still has a few spots that hurt them in duals but the studs really make them tough in individual tournaments.

Didn't Blake Maurer have a year or two left before his injury?? He was going to be tough.

Go Bucks !! Angel !!

We lost a couple guys that were bright stars. TJ Enright is another... 31-13 as a Frosh and NCAA qualifier. He started off his Soph year 6-0 with back to back tourny MOW awards got hurt and has been 50/50 since and relegated to the practice room as a 133/141 and will graduate this year.

Thanks for the props and shout outs. I have connections back in the wrestling room. I wrestled with most of last year and this year graduates on the Ohio Junior National Team back in 1999 and 2000. I have subscriptions to many wrestling radio sites and and the "sports package" on DTV so I have my laptop in the living room for the B10 tourney and NCAAs.

I was on the phone with old coaches I know for the OHSAA high school tourney and have/had a few friends go to watch the B10 and NCAAs.

Now for the important info...

UPDATED BRACKETS FOR FINALS: HERE
Team scores --- Wrestlers in the Finals
1. Iowa 109.5 --- 3
2. Nebraska 74 --- 0
3. Iowa State 72 --- 1
4. Penn State 71 --- 2
4. Ohio State 71 --- 3
6. Michigan 69 --- 2
6. Central Michigan 69 --- 1
8. Oklahoma State 66 --- 1
9. Cornell 63 --- 1
10. Minnesota 61.5 --- 1

This is illustrates what I meant by the best shot at taking 2nd. We have the most finalists left we HAVE to win atleast one to take over 2nd. But Jaggers is facing an undefeated #1 seed Bergman is obviously facing his rival Fox of NU and Pucillo is going head to head with an undefeated IOWA ST #1 seed.

Oh, by the way this morning Palmer wrestled in the Consie medal round and took 8th and is our first official 2008 All American. Losing to #2 Seed and fellow OSHAA State Champion Dustin Schlatter 3-2.

Johnstone, Humphrey and Triggas got us 6 wins that we were just were not supposed to get, so they really have put us in this situation.
Exciting part is Sponseller, Palmer, Johnstone, Jaggers, Humphrey, Triggas, And Pucillo all have MULTIPLE years of elgibilty left. We also have commitments from 2 more 4x state champions coming in as frosh.

The really stupid early predicition is OSU looking at 6-7 All Americans/NCAA qualifiers and possibly 3-4 Champions next year. That would easily put us as the run-away favorite for the national title. Look for OSU to be the preseason #1 or #2 team next year.

But enough of that... about an hour before Jaggers is on....

J Jaggers wins 6-2

2008 NCAA Champion 141 pounds

1st period scoreless

2nd
JJ Escape 1...1-0
deep shot by mendes at the end of the period...waved off..1-0 JJ

3rd
JJ on top to start period
Mendes Escape 1...1-1
JJ counters a deep double... Takedown 2 near fall 2 JJ...5-1
JJ just broke his ankle... 20 seconds from a national championship... we are waiting to see...Mendes tried a reversal on Jaggers, Mendes started to twist Jaggers ankle in a scramble for position and you could see Jaggers foot pop. Either Dislocated or broke his ankle... he used his 1 minute injury time. Decided to wrestle on it and just stayed away from Mendes for the last 15 seconds.
He ran out the clock oh my!!!

Oklahoma State got a win, we got a win and now Penn State has the lead in their finals... this would lead to a deadlock for second with three teams and our 2 wrestlers left...

EDIT: penn state lost their 149 bout...
