OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Watching Bronny James play at the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions and he looks VERY average.
Yeah, its tough to evaluate on 1 game and sometimes we get a little too hyped by highlight videos. He's a good athlete, has a good shot and feel for the game. I think he's pretty fairly ranked in the 30-40 range. Not really someone we need with GWIII in the fold, but it does appear we are targeting another guard in the class.

2nd night update.

It’s half and Bronny has zero points.

So that’s 1.5 games and he’s a shooting gaurd (whose job is to score) and he has a total of 3 points. And he has not done anything else either.

He is totally TOTALLY overrated from what my eyes tell me.

Quick Hits
  • With the Buckeyes gearing up for their first March Madness contest, recruiting for the future is already underway as they look to be highly interested in Neal Quinn, who is now in the transfer portal. Having already been in contact with the Lafayette transfer, the desire to be a priority makes sense with how the Buckeyes have really needed a big man in the middle of their lineup. This should be a name worth watching in the coming weeks.

15 PPG | 7 RPG | 4 APG | 55 FG% base stats but didnt catch the blocks which I'm guessing at 7' and agile, he's good to disrupt a ton every game. 1.4 blks and 0.9 steals per game also according to ESPN. Definitely a take if possible.

Illini sophomore guard Andre Curbelo entered the transfer portal on Monday, as first reported by Verbal Commits and confirmed to 247Sports' Travis Branham.

Curbelo confirmed the news on his social media pages.

Curbelo sat the entire second half of Illinois’ loss to Houston in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday. Illini head coach Brad Underwood called it a “coach’s decision”, but he did not go into any further detail.

OHIO STATE

Outside of dazzling freshman Malaki Branham, Ohio State's backcourt really underwhelmed in 2021-22. Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State staff figure to be very active in the transfer portal this offseason looking for guard help. Branham shot up NBA Draft boards and could be a first-round pick. Jamari Wheeler and Cedric Russell have exhausted their eligibility. Curbelo played high school ball with Ohio State big man Zed Key. Curbelo and Key are close and may want to rekindle that magic. Curbelo would be a huge upgrade for what figures to be a young Ohio State backcourt, and Holtmann could sell sending guards like Branham and Duane Washington to the NBA. But would Curbelo want to stay in the Big Ten?
