Add Trevor Thompson to the list of transfer big men the Buckeyes are interested in

From LGHL:

Report: Ohio State showing interest in Virginia Tech transfer Trevor Thompson

According to Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star, freshman power forward, Trevor Thompson, who spent the last season as a spot starter for the Virginia Tech Hokies, has been granted his release by newly hired head coach Buzz Williams and is looking to continue his career elsewhere.

Per Neddenriep's report, the Buckeyes, Arizona, Auburn, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Purdue, Tennessee and Xavier have all been in contact with the long armed, athletic, 6'11 210-pound Thompson, who is working to set up visits.
Has three years of eligibility after his sits out next season.

Matta does not like large classes but history has sort of done him in and he is going to have to have a couple big classes.

Matta once said the ideal roster would have three guys in each class, giving balance to the 13-man roster. But the Buckeyes have been off-kilter for years. The 2010 class that just graduated started with six players, while the 2011 class that will be seniors next season had five. But the 2012 had just one (Della Valle) and the 2013 class had two.

So the Buckeyes once again will fall short of the limit of 13 scholarship players. Even with adding one another player, they would only be at 11.

Another possibility courtesy of 11 Warriors. He would have three years of eligibility.
Ohio State is definitely trying to bring in another big man. They've reached out to transfers Anthony Lee and Trevor Thompson already. Bob Baptist pointed out on Twitter that the Buckeyes are also interested in '14 JUCO PF Jordan Goodman.

The one-time Rutgers 2011 commitment holds an offer from Oklahoma State. Many other schools are showing interest, according to JUCORecruiting.com.

Goodman averaged around 19 and 7 as a sophomore. I believe he would be eligible to play right away and would have two seasons to play.

Anyone find this amusing.. and ironic when you think of what your perceptions were of Dukes vision toward college scholastics

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/20...yzewski-isnt-going-anywhere.html#.UzXcgfmuR8E

Mike Krzyzewski isn’t going anywhere; neither is Duke’s one-and-done model

"One thing that won’t change, though, is Duke’s pursuit of the best high school talent – he said one would have to be an “idiot” to tell the best high school players they weren’t wanted at Duke, even if they hope to stay only one year.

So, with that understood, it’s time to reconsider how things are done and taught at Duke, starting with leadership, one of Krzyzewski’s favorite topics of study and discussion."
