OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Do not know much about this kid but this could be interesting

6-9 Anthony Lee of Temple, graduate transfer eligible next season, spoke w/ Matta today, Lee told @GoodmanESPN. #buckbk

Lee can play immediately at his next destination, taking advantage of the graduate transfer rule.

The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 13.6 points and 8.6 rebounds this past season for the Owls.

Because he can play right away, expect multiple high-major schools to get involved. Lee racked up 11 double-doubles last season, and is active on the interior, both rebounding the ball and contesting shots. He finished his career at Temple with a 17-point, seven-rebound, three-block performance against UCF.

On the Crystal Ball, the two guys that are being picked 100% to OSU last I checked the other day were Daniel Giddens (PF/C from GA in the 2015 class) and VJ King (2016 SG/SF), each with at least a handful of predictors.
This article makes it sound like there's a hint of a package deal (always skeptical of those) for Giddens and Jaylen Brown.

7 footer from VaTech transferring. Wouldn't be eligible next year but would still be worth an offer.

I'm sorry by how in the world could you conclude that this guy is "worth an offer". A former 3 star recruit that started 11 games (averaging 5 and 4)for a 9-22 team, whose Coach was fired? Have you ever even watched him play? Or assume because he's 7' feet tall and looking for a new home, that the Buckeyes should hand over a scholarship?

I keep hearing Indiana is the team to beat but since there is the obvious issue of them sucking and not being in the tourney again next year, hopefully that helps us. ISU seems to get every transfer too.

Lee would be a HUGE get - dude is a beast on the boards and our post could sorely use him.

Posted this in the Ahrens thread but will move it here...

I know it's a pipe dream at this point but that's an interesting starting five right there:

PG: Harris
SG: Ahrens
SF: Mitchell
PF: Bragg
C: Giddens

Knowing that Bragg is probably favoring Kentucky and Mitchell is up in the air I could still see Esa Ahmad getting an offer. They are also pursuing guys like Jalen Coleman, Jaylen Brown, Doral Moore, Eric Davis, Franklin Howard, etc. but it doesn't seem like they are leading for anyone right now, outside of possibly Giddens.

I take it that you have given up on the possibility of us getting Turner out of Texas. Maybe since Mitchell reaffirmed his commitment he could give Myles a call:wink: The one possible recruit that concerns me is Giddens because I know that we might be his leader but I am worried about the possibility of one of our assistants leaving and I do not know who is recruiting him and if an assistant leaving would affect him.

Yes I have given up on Turner. I like Doral Moore a lot but it seems like Giddens is the top target for 2015 and he is visiting soon. Mitchell reaffirming his commitment is certainly news to me and probably everyone else here but I certainly hope it is true. I would be disappointed if they miss out on Bragg but if they hold on to Mitchell and go after Ahmad, I will learn to live with it. I would not be opposed to a five of:

PG: Harris
SG: Ahrens
Wing: Ahmad
Wing: Mitchell
C: Giddens
