OL Marcus Hall (The Bird Man of Ann Arbor)

^^ Agreed. Also, the relative cost of entertaining a recruit is nothing compared to a big time athletic departments budget. JT could point to three seats at the 50 yard line and tell a recruit that those seats, in one game, paid for the kids whole visit. The kids are going to be a major part of a system that generates billions during their years playing. The NCAA says that the visits are legal, so the kids should have a much fun with it as they can.

What do Michigan, Miami and Tennesse all have in common? They all play OSU in the next decade. OK, Hall might be waivering on his nine year early scouting trip to Knoxville and really, who wouldn't be? He has scouted the other two and even jerked around with their fan base a bit. In the interest of the recruiting forum rules I will add that this is a WAG with little or no factual basis.

fwiw all the Miami insiders feel good about them landing Hall.
I would be a little T.O.ed if we lost a blue chip Glenville recruit two years in a row.
nevada makes me feel better about our chances though :)

That Miami Herald link from this morning wasn't positive at all for Miami. Plus they already have 5 OL recruits committed, with alot of optimism for Q. Washington (?) as number 6. Nothing would suprise me at this point, but until Hall signs someplace else, I will remain cautiously optimistic for the good guys.

not TN:biggrin:

This just in...Marcus stopped to use the bathroom at the Allstate Hairstyling College on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland and now states that they are his new leader. "The facilities were fantastic!!" Marcus stated upon his return to the car.

Stay tuned.

ps Look it up. It's a real place.

I'm not buying this information at all. Allstate's record for putting offensive lineman in the NFL is non-existent. But then again, so is Rich-Rod's, and Marcus had UM at the top of his list for a few nano-seconds.

On top of that, a home visit by JT and none from Kiffin to a Glenville kid already heavily leaning toward OSU should only mean one thing. All in all this article doesn't bother me one bit.

From that link:

Edwards, who said he won?t try to push Hall to UT, would still love to have Hall join him in Knoxville.

?Marcus heading to Tennessee would be so much of a plus,? Edwards said. ?I?m not going to talk about that because that?d be a dream come true for me and my boy to come down there.?

From a link Wad posted on 1/26:

Edwards said he will try to sway his teammate, offensive lineman Marcus Hall, to UT.

Hall, who's also considering Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois and Miami, plans to visit UT next weekend.

"I'm going to try to get him to be a Volunteer," Edwards said.

Many believe Ohio State to be the team to beat for Hall's services. Edwards doesn't see it that way.

"A lot of people think that but I think Marcus is going to shock a lot of people," Edwards said.

That was a quick change . . . .

Don't know what happened to the rest of my post, but...That article may get the hopes up of the average UT fan, but I noticed a couple things. 1)Marcus is impressed with the pseudo-NFL UT staff's potentail to increase NFL output. But OSU's history in the draft is more impressive than most other powerhouses. 2)Marcus is attracted to a depth chart short on OL's. But after the week to week shuffling that our o-line went through last season, including the emergence of a true freshman center, any top OL recruit should feel confident they could come in and earn significant PT. That was supposed to be with my previous post. Sorry bout that.

Ahem...

Rivals $

2/1

From the Tennessee site...says he is down to OSU and Tennessee and has eliminated Miami...says he will take until Wednesday to decide.

Scout $ (6 PM)

2/1

By Bakas...says Miami is still in it...says he will make his choice known on Monday.

No clue what order these interviews were done in but there is one constant...OSU.
