OL Marcus Hall (The Bird Man of Ann Arbor)

Edwards pulls the trigger: He's a Vol : Football Recruiting : GoVolsXtra.com

Edwards said he will try to sway his teammate, offensive lineman Marcus Hall, to UT.

Hall, who's also considering Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois and Miami, plans to visit UT next weekend.

"I'm going to try to get him to be a Volunteer," Edwards said.

Many believe Ohio State to be the team to beat for Hall's services. Edwards doesn't see it that way.

"A lot of people think that but I think Marcus is going to shock a lot of people," Edwards said.

The irony here is OUR offensive coordinator came from the NFL.

By "depth chart is better at Miami," does he mean wide open since Miami is currently not an elite-caliber team, or does he mean good chance of starting at one maybe two slots, as per OSU?

I could respect someone for picking another powerhouse, such as USC or OK, based on football-related criteria. And I could respect someone picking Miami because they wanted to give the warm weather climate a try. But I don't understand how someone could pick Miami based on football-related criteria. Maybe 10 years ago, but not now.

By depth chart, he's probably referring to the offensive line at Miami. That indeed is wide open and he'd have an excellent chance to start (I'm not kidding on this, you'd have to watch their games to understand this).

I do think that Hall would get excellent coaching at OSU, and of course they have one of the best, if not the best, offensive line in the country. But in the end it's up to Hall to decide.

Miami just picked up Mark Whipple, an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, as their new offensive coordinator.

Another thing that I think is selling Miami is the fact that so many freshman got playing time last year.

Randy Shannon, now without a defensive coordinator since Bill Young departed to Oklahoma State, may take on the DC job himself.

I can understand a kid wanting to check out his options, but Hall visiting another school this late in the process doesn't bode well for the Bucks to me. I hope I'm wrong, but I've never really got the vibe this kid has been sold on OSU. As I'm not an insider or have connections to people involved directly with the program, I hope somebody can come alleviate my fears. Won't they?:tibor:

This is very consistent with JTs marketing when he tells a recruit to check out everyone.. to make sure OSU is where they want to go...

I would be surprised if Hall ====== Buckeye doesn't come Monday end of day. Tenn does not worry me... Marcus doesn't have a sister (Munoz) whose scholarship is a function of him committing to the Vols :shake:

Hall would be an integral part of a line that very well may turn out to be one of the best ever... not a good line... but a line that has a NASTY NASTY streak in them... a great line

He does have a HS friend and teammate that committed to Tenn and that will try to win him over. I'm with you twoodbuck97, I'm sweating this one.

Just got word that there will be a formal announcement next week...checking to verify time and date.

Still not worried one bit...I guess the Boyd situation has taught me nothing.

Well since Hall is from an OSU pipeline, as opposed to a Virginia QB who had already decommitted twice, I'll cut you some slack and agree
