OU was leaning heavily on Bomar for the upcoming season. They could ill afford to have another season in which AP takes a (likely) brutal beating as the mainstay of that offense. I'd say their list of supporting cast members was thinner than UTs and without Bomar (and others that may also fall by the wayside for a game, or for more) this is going to hurt them big-time, hurt like a visit to a sadistic proctologist.

Comments ranged from "I wish it had been Peterson" to "Shows Stoops was just covering his a$$."

Well...one thing stands out to me. We may lose to Oregon. We may lose several games. Who really knows? We also may be a lot better than anyone thinks.

But one simple fact hasn't changed in my mind: We're still gonna beat Texas this year. And when we do, with a backup QB, after they all just became SO convinced that they were not only now guaranteed a win, but a repeat MNC, well...it's gonna be SO sweet!

I can't wait for that beautiful day in October. We're gonna smoke those classless fans and their dirty, arrogant team.

We've still got the best defense in the land and the best player in the nation in Adrian Peterson. The offensive line and receivers are alot farther along now than they were last year. We're not going on probation. We'll recruit past this. And we'll move on. Even before the news I didn't pick us to win the National Championship. Now I know we won't. But I still think we can win 10 games and get into a BCS bowl. I still think Adrian will win the Heisman. It's not like Rhett had wonderful numbers last year anyway. We'll move on because we're Oklahoma and Rhett Bomar may have the best physical skills that any quarterback that has ever played here has. But Rhett is not bigger than the program!

It's just my personal opinion, but I would be willing to place a bet that the "quick trigger finger" just might be due to the fact that Stoops knows of more crooked shit going on and can't take the chance of an NCAA investigation airing all of the dirty laundry :tic: .

Honestly, considering the baseless allegations that were strung in OSU's direction a few years back..........I don't think it's too fair to rehash these same theories in another teams direction.

I commend Stoops for making a bold statement. Who knows if they were/are crooked or not, I'd be willing to bet that a majority of major programs are. At least he actually kicked a guy off the team, you have to give him credit for that at the very least.

So what you are implying is that Tress should have let TS go? My point is that he didn't and he welcomed the visitors from Indianapolis, because he had nothing to hide.

I propose that Stoops does, and he knows it, there for he is heading the investigation off at the pass.
