Ohio University to play Ohio State in 2008

Shhhhh. It's OK. Let them dream.
that was some funny stuff to read... theyre signs are so cute.

Didn't use to be until they kept getting destroyed against legit teams when everyone was watching. Then the administration realized their ignorant fans needed someone with half a mind to let them know how to defend themselves until the next time they fall on their face. And that is how you know have Journalism 210: How To Not Make Any Sense While Defending You're Joke of a Football Team.

wow...

wow...

I love the clown who's going to wear a t-shirt that says "Safety School" in an attempt to mock Ohio State. We might be a safety school for kids who don't get into (or can't afford) Northwestern or Amherst, but FredOU is a safety school for Ohio kids who don't get into Ohio State.

Acceptance Rate
Ohio State 59%
FredOU 82%

High School Class Rank of entering freshmen
In Top 10%
Ohio State 52%
FredOU 15%

In Top 25%
Ohio State 91%
FredOU 41%

In BOTTOM HALF of high school class
Ohio State 1%
FredOU 17%
In other words, despite having a freshmen class only 2/3 the size of Ohio State's, FredOU enrolled approximately 11X (679 vs. 61) as many freshmen who graduated in the bottom half of their high school class than did Ohio State.

Middle 50% of ACT
Ohio State 26-30
FredOU 21-26

Percent of class scoring 30+ on ACT Composite
Ohio State 27%
FredOU 7%

Percent of class scoring 24 or less on ACT composite
Ohio State 9%
FredOU higher than 52% (52% scored 23 or less)

Now shall we compare national rankings, department rankings, indicators of faculty quality, research funding...endowment and fundraising numbers...and so on...and so on? The gap between the two schools becomes even starker.

As I said earlier, Bowling Green with delusions of grandeur.

OU just has a history of hating teams better than them and in their delusions of granduer, creating rivalries. When I was at Miami 2001-2004 football seasons they insisted they were our rivals. We thought Cincinnati was our rival in football, MSU/Michigan in Hockey... maybe they were a rival in Basketball, but still Miami basketball averages like ten people per game.

No one on cared about OU other than halloween when a long last HS pal would envite them to hedonist weekend...
By the way my fiancee and us ran into an OU grad who was talking trash about Miami and OSU yesterday, he was working at Rite Aid as security. OU is relavent in one thing, drinking end of story, enjoy your pay check and 40 point thrashing.

One time I was riding through Athens on my motercycle. I pulled over to ask a local for directions on how to get back to 33. His only response was "boy, you're off the state route". Thanks a lot hilljack. If I was on the state route I wouldn't be asking for directions now would I.

With the ever so slim segway of favorite encounters with hilljacks...

Once I was in Oddlots looking at tools. Now there are some people who will not buy tools at Oddlots and other people who will not buy food at Oddlots. For me, condoms and fireworks are always on the don't buy there list. Anyway, I was there looking at the bandsaw and a one armed hilljack came up to me and said "don't buy the bandsaw". Let me tell you, if a one armed hilljack in Oddlots says that; you are not buying the bandsaw. Turns out he had a problem with the motor and not the obvious problem but I am still not buying the bandsaw.

Wow......imagine that. A miami grad ripping OU on an Ohio State board and then claiming they aren't rivals. It must have been rough to lose to your "non rival" two years in row considering how horrible their football program is. :nerd:
