Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

D'Emilio/Paniro 2nd rd. isn't a bad matchup. Feldman beats Kueter next time. I only want to wrestle McCrone and Bouzakis first rd. Mendez/Bartlett Semi is fine. Shumate has tough first match. Rogotzke could pin his way to Keckeisen. Cannon has a path to the semi. Kharch and Paddy didn't get any favors. Top six this season would surprise some folks...
Little over a week. Go BUCKEYES...

I’m going to ride your enthusiasm here. I hope you’re right on Feldman. I did not see their rematch, but I saw Kueter won 2-0. Pure speculation here, it seems as though it was 0-0 after 1, an escape for Kueter for a point and a ride out for an additional point in some order. He needs to figure out how to overcome Kueter’s length otherwise I’m afraid we’ll see a similar result. I agree with you on Kharchla’s draw too. I thought it was almost disrespectful, but that’s my bias as I haven’t watched much of the top seeded wrestlers ahead of him other than Pinto, which I think Kharchla beats. Regardless, it starts and stops with O’Toole in my opinion. I’m feeling a run for Bouzakis too. He’s pinned Orine in the past, he’ll be refreshed for Shawver, and ready for his date with Ayala. Can’t wait!

Wow, Cannon got a pretty dang good seed but he earned it. Dylan may have got a a bad seed but he kind of brought that upon himself this season. Feldman might be too low considering his losses against top opponents for the most part, but overall everything looks about right. We petered out in the B1G and the guys are going to take hits on their seeds because of that.

But after many years of wrestling, coaching and following the sport, throw the seeds aside and just wrestle your best when it matters. We have plenty of guys that can get on the podium if they ignore the seeds and just go wrestle to their abilities. Go Bucks, can't wait for the Tourney.

McCrone was McCrone. Has a winnable match that he's already lost to...
Paddy doesn't have much to offer. He has a winnable match but he could go 0-2 just as easily.
Kharch looks old and tired and he has Pinto next match. One of them is going 0-2...
Rogotzke always has a chance...
Rogotzke spent 7 minutes on offense while his opponent spent 7 minutes looking to counter. I understand against Ryder that's a smart strategy, but if in 7 minutes you don't initiate anything shouldn't you at least get a stall warning?

I appreciated the updates from earlier. I was only able to catch Shumate stick Salazar and Feldman’s match. Bummer about our 4 loses. Hate to see any of our guys lose, especially Kharchla and Paddy. These dudes have worked hard and battled injuries. Maybe there’s some HEW creeping in. I hope they can rally though and avoid a 2 and out. Great to read Bouzakis pinned Orine again too.

Pretty incredible that Bouzakis and Shumate both earned falls. Too many losses in the first round but Kharch and Paddy are just out of gas with past injuries it seems, it's a bummer but seems to be reality. McCrone you just can't rely on, but he could shred his way through consolations for all we know.

On to the next round, I'm going to miss most of it with work unfortunately but meeting up with my buddies in a cabin in the mountains to hang and watch tomorrow's action.

Pretty mixed bag of results from yesterday. McCrone avenged his loss to Cruz (Iowa) to stay alive. Bouzakis had a quality 9-4 decision to get to quarter finals but has a tough on in Ayala next. Mendez scored a MD to advance to quarter finals. D'Emilio had two quality wins to get into the quarter finals and has a very winnable match to get into semis and be an AA again.

Then we take a nosedive mostly in the rest of the weights. All of Paddy, Kharchla and Rogotzke all went 2 and out. Cannon lost his second match at 157 but to a very good opponent in SV. Shumate was the sole bright spot in the upper weights and won to get into the quarter finals, he'll face a buzz saw in Buchanan next but really nice performance so far....nice surprise there at 197. Feldman lost decisively and has a long road ahead to get on the podium.
