Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Picked up a commitment from Luke Pletcher the #6 overall recruit for the class of 2016

http://www.flowrestling.org/coverag...icle/32457-Luke-Pletcher-Verbals#.Vb-kBFfDV8F

HUGE. Pletcher is an absolute stud and kind of unexpected...I thought he was all PSU. Ryan remains on fire. I think he projects at 133 and will fill in nice when DiJulius graduates. Might bump up if Toms can't stay down to 25 by then but this gives us a very strong lower lineup in the future. Going Toms, Pletcher, and Hayes will be phenomenal. Then Mic at 49 or 57? We're going to be stacked.

Looking forward, we just need someone in the 149/157 range and the 174/184 range. Put that together and we'll be set.

OSU is going all in on the Mark Hall sweepstakes. Pound for pound #1 recruit. There are a few well placed OSU insiders that seem to think we are leading for Hall.

Were sitting well with Hall but he's going to be be a very tough pull. If he chose today, I'd say we get it. We'll see but I do truly think he is the next great that's still in high school (he and Spencer Lee). If we got him, we would be set up for an unreal run. You'd have a team with Hall, Toms, Bo and Mic, Snyder, Hayes, Myles Martin, Pletcher, Haines, etc. Dear lord.

Reading between the lines it seems that Hall likes Neb and OSU above the others. He has mentioned the Burroughs effect with Neb but he also is connected to several OSU guys on Twitter and was hanging with them at the OTC. He just doesn't seem like an Iowa kid and you get the feeling Minny should be in better shape but isn't. The Midwest comment seems to rule out PSU. Agree on Spencer Lee. That kid is gonna be special if he stays healthy.

I am surprised he isn't a heavy lean to MN since he goes to school in Apple Valley, a pro-UofM school district. Perhaps he moved there for wrestling from another location.

I didn't post anything but I went to read a PSU message board regarding our recent commit to see how we got him over PSU. No insight into that but they sure do like refering to us a TBU (tanning bed u).

Mark Hall isn't a MN native. He is originally from Michigan and chose to wrestle in Kentucky as a middle school student so he could compete for a HS state title as it is one of the states where it's allowed. After accomplishing that he then transferred to Apple Valley to be around better wrestling. He's not giving much away to anyone on his recruiting. He is without question the best HS wrestler in this class. He is a rare blend of athleticism and skill. He man handled some pretty heralded college frosh this summer in freestyle.

I think OSU has a real shot but as RB07OSU mentioned we are competing against other top tier programs. I think he is deciding in Oct.

Last I heard he was committing sometime in September-October. I am a little surprised MN is not up there even with Hall not being a native...Robinson works that school hard. Really hoping we land him though...if we do, the upper weights (165 and up) are stacked for the foreseeable future. Hall is an instant competitor for the title and will not require a redshirt imo.

Kyle Lawson of (formerly) Graham commits to Wisconsin. Bummer for OSU, I thought we might get him and honestly I think he will be special at the next level. Kicker is that he will not be wrestling for Graham next year either. Transferred to Olentangy Liberty...good kid, wish him the best though either way.

Edit: Maybe quite a few Graham kids transfer...we'll see. Does not sound good though.
