Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

I still think they are a big player away from making national noise. They do have plenty to make a run at the conference though. Still a very exciting girls basketball team. I'm actually enjoying them play more than the men at the moment.

I must have been doing a Rip Van Winkle.....what happened to the Duke gal who was supposed to have transferred in with the gal from Georgetown? Another injury or a changed mind? Thanks for the info. Go Bucks.

Kelsey Mitchell was named B1G freshman of the week and Player of the Week.. She is putting up some really big-time numbers.
On another note, the team has now 9 players available up from the 7 that was available earlier in the season.. They are almost in every game that they play. Great job by McGuff!

For the record, it should be noted that last night the Lady buckeyes took care of TSUN 77-73 thus completing a two-game sweep against that team this season. Maybe they could play them in the Big Ten tournament and beat them for a third time:biggrin:

TSUN beat them in overtime in the first matchup.

After watching the men's team lose to MSU I decided to boost my Buckeye faith a little bit by watching the women's team takedown Illinois. Unfortunately, Illinois did not agree with me and the Buckeyes lost by around 10. Kelsey Mitchell had an off game but that did not stop her from chucking up 3 point shots. I think she scored around 20 but took way too many shots for my liking.

I guess they did not like losing to Illinois because they curb stomped Purdue yesterday evening 92-60. Mitchell did not shoot as many times from the three-point line but her play was a little more consistent that it was against Illinois.

Special props to Amy Scullion:bow: who comes back from medical school for games to give the bench some much-needed depth..
