Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

I just watched the game on large screen. I don't feel any differently.

I really like JT Barrett. Unfortunately, Barrett is not a Heisman candidate. He is not "fixed". His passing does not present a credible threat beyond 20 yards and he is unlikely to play a single down in the NFL at quarterback. I believe that if Burrows was uninjured, he would not have been playing in the fourth quarter.

Part of the problem is the WRs. That damaging interception was also on a WR who should have come back for the ball.

The defensive secondary also was exposed. Repeatedly. That's primarily on experience.

A B1G championship is on offer but there is no way this team gets to a NC. Maybe they will decide that they want to be another team. Maybe now that a NC is out of the question, they'll decide to be a different team.

We wouldn't have won a championship in '14 if Barrett hadn't gotten hurt.

There, I said it.

Exactly. My husband and I were just talking about how if he played in the Natty we don't think the outcome would've been the same.

We'll never really know, of course, but we had the same conversation during the game tonight.

Unreasonable expectations..we lost a bunch of NFL players who lost to Clemson and their replacements are not good. Secondary bad bad bad. Middle LB small and not leading. Just like last year no on field leaders...

If you asked me a couple years ago if it was "unreal expectations" to have Urban Meyer as your head coach and expect them to reload every single year,I would have disagreed. Alabama has kicked the shit out of most teams every single year, and reloads with names we don't even know who take right back over and kick the shit out of everyone the following year. I do agree with everything else you stated, though. There is no identity on this team and too many people look scared to lose.

I spent last year telling myself that the WR's were never getting any separation and JT would lead this team given the chance. He isn't hitting people in stride. He isn't looking to throw to anyone but his first option. The screen passes are so beyond telegraphed it's hard to watch them run them.

Oklahoma is a very fast team, and Mayfield is a solid QB. Watching him run the offense only made watching JT even more painful. It honestly looks like something has got to him mentally, and he just can't shake it. When he is in the pocket he is looking to unload RIGHT NOW. Instant paranoia when he's in the pocket and sees opposing team's jerseys. These are the games that count. I don't care if he throws for 300 yards against unranked teams.

Not much to say about this one. Really concerned with how bad the passing game still is. Don't get how this is the exact same offense we saw at the end of last year. 2014 is getting farther and farther away and each year since has seen a significantly flawed team on offense with no chance of competing for a title.

The only good thing one could possibly take from this is that just like '14 VaTech, I got ridiculously drunk and ended up vomiting. So basically OSU is goinh to make a miraculous turnaround and win a title, right?
