Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

2014 was destiny imo, but I'll jive JT credit for getting us to the B1G title game. There's no way of knowing if Cardale could have done likewise before JT's injury. The stars aligned in 2014.

And Cardale was certainly well rested for the stretch run.

i think tebow has clouded meyer's perception of what he wants out of the quarterback position. my hope is that because of this loss, he lets wilson have complete control over playcalling. by now, it should be obvious that neglecting the tailback is a top-down issue.

Was Tebow making a bunch of in the pocket decisions as JT is asked to do now? I wonder if Meyer feels like he didn't develop Tebow enough to be NFL ready. Urban's offense seems to work best with single reads and plays building on plays to create mistakes on the defense.

UFM system is rather basic on both offense and defense to be honest.. he relies on simplicity so we can go fast and play fast.

Issue is when you play elite teams they'll always be as fast as our team so simplicity isn't for shit in those games. We need some complexity and some sophistication to our schemes on both offense and defense. Sure we can't play as fast right away but that's why we practice. Eventually the kids will play fast because they know it and when that time comes we would be much better equipped to handle teams like OU.

I can't argue any of that. But, you know what you have with Barrett, and in most games that count, it is not good. With what we've seen from JT, we are not winning a National Title. We need a lot of work in a lot of areas to even hope to win the B1G. If that's the case, why not give Haskins a shot? He has the recruiting accolades, and the coaches have raved about him. Maybe he falls on his face, yeah. But we're we going anywhere with the current configuration? But, maybe he gives you a spark. He'll, he can't me much worse than what JT has done in three of the last four games.

Hell, I don't know. There's a reason guys a lot smarter than me earn a lot more than me to make these decisions. Anyway, that's the last I'm saying about it tonight. Buenos Noches.

You might be right. What would we do that will be completely different? Will his dual threatedness be scripted? If there is a better QB on the roster to run the plays that are being called then by all means. I guess I just don't understand how a game plan can't be created that makes JT look more than competent. Is a QB change the spark to push us over the top? If it is that then I'd at least I'd like to see JT get a chance to put his always calm self into a pair of the white shoes first.

Urban just emphatically stated that he won't consider pulling JTBIV.

So we may as well move on from that; and it's by no means the end of the world. JT has issues, but we have issues to fix in every phase of the passing game. Solve the others and he's more than capable of carrying us. The future may well be in the wings, but that's for the future.

Um, I'm no football expert, but isn't that what February-August were for?
