Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

I don't disagree, especially when our last two losses have been bad to major college powerhouses, but it does provide some perspective to the idea that the world is crumbling.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Partially because my world is actually about to crumble.

Good times.

BTW guys I double protected the buckeye blanket. Maybe I should've waited instead of space bagging the magic.

Have to run the football early and often...not enough of that. The last two weeks have shown this team will lose to Ped State and scUM and could drop one of the night roadies at Corn or Iowa.

A four loss team. Eyes are on JT and Urban for this...maybe its time to stop letting 3 stat players from Ohio walk away to tak another 5 star athlete bust from out of state. I saw zero pride tonight. None
A little over the top here. They aren't losing to Nebraska or Iowa. Penn State is going to be surprised. scUM will be a dogfight

God, Jake, we get it. I'm certainly not putting this all on JT. The pass defense stunk, too. But here's the thing, we have a totally overhauled secondary, and Baker Mayfield is one of the best players in the country. It's not unreasonable to expect our pass defense to struggle given those facts. On the other hand, nobody considers OU to be an elite defense. JT has been TERRIBLE tonight. And in a number of other games. This ain't a one-off. Yes, there are WR issues, yes the right side of the OL isn't good. But the things he CAN control, like hitting open receivers, the timing on his releases, he's failed miserably.

Obviously we're not gonna change each others minds here. I've been in the same boat your are right now with JT for two years, I WANTED him to prove everybody wrong, but I can't do it anymore after tonight. I look at JT and I see a broken qb who is in his fifth year. There's no fixing that, and if that's the case, you have two other, much younger, qbs who were well regarded recruits and got great reviews this spring/summer. Stop clinging to 2014 and start looking to the future.

God, NFB, I get it. But who do we have on the bench who is better? You and the fan boys liking your post need to answer that, then ask yourself WTF it would do to keep Oklahoma to something less than 490 yards of offense?

Is JT flawed? FUCK YEAH! I'm not oblivious to that. But I'm also not going to lazily throw this debacle all on his back. Defense sucked. Receivers did nothing. It's easy to say put in the next QB, but there's no reason to assume he's better and the other problems go away if he comes in.

Wanna replace JT, have at it. Just don't be surprised if the other problems still persist, and maybe - just maybe - you end up with a few more.

You leave the D out there this long over and over, trenches will always get gassed.
Arguably we should have enough depth but it is what it is. If O cant get 1st downs, D will eventually snap. Esp the DL. Its why whole NFL teams are built around power run with stout D knowing it will pay in the 2nd half.

Did they play that good to start the game or after the Bucks scored on the 1st drive of the 2nd half? No they didn't...

The VaTech parallels that some have mentioned are intriguing. We needed that loss to be a solid team, the Pollyanna in me will hope this loss causes a similar spark.
