For me, it is pretty simple. If Ohio State is to recover, it needs a vertical threat. 16 of 31 with an average of 4.6 yards isn't a vertical threat. It doesn't have one as long as Barrett is under center. We won a NC because Cardale Jones gave us that threat. There's no one else ready, so I don't know how you fix this.

It also needs the defensive secondary to get much more experience. The TOP is not with us, the D is gassed. It's not what we expected or wanted, but it is time to shift our expectations.

We could have NFL prime Randy Moss and it wouldn't fucking matter. We need more than a threat.

The defense was fine, mostly. Yeah, I would have wanted better coverage. But the problem is the offense. I don't like the philosophy, play to your fucking strengths - run the goddamned ball. I'm not sure how that eludes them.
