Mayfield struggled against us last year, lighting us up tonight.

Clearly, JT Barrett's fault.

i think the issue was that 0 points wasn't going to beat clemson no matter what, and 13 points (last fg should not have happened) wasn't going to beat oklahoma tonight no matter what the defense did. scoring more than 31 in either should be doable for osu.

For me, it is pretty simple. If Ohio State is to recover, it needs a vertical threat. 16 of 31 with an average of 4.6 yards isn't a vertical threat. It doesn't have one as long as Barrett is under center. We won a NC because Cardale Jones gave us that threat. There's no one else ready, so I don't know how you fix this.

It also needs the defensive secondary to get much more experience. The TOP is not with us, the D is gassed. It's not what we expected or wanted, but it is time to shift our expectations.

The fans were right Clemson wasn't a one off..the scheme isn't working on O any more.

The scheme is limited. Any offense is gonna be inconsistent when you cant stretch the field and force the defense to play honest. There's only so much you can do as an o-coordinator when the d is all inside 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Our FG didn't choke on a 37 yarder and our punter kicked the ball WAY more times. So we've got that going for us.....which is nice.

I think they lost more battles than they won, and when they did collapse the pocket, Mayfield usually escaped it.

Oklahoma had some great play calling. Kicked the defenses butt. Our offense, big question mark.

Not only that but Saban has had the most dominant defense for 10 years straight now. I have no clue how he does it. Have #1 classes alone doesn't account for that.

I'm not sure either... like what is the difference? It's amazing what Saban does
