Meyer's teams had a knack of peaking late in the season. Just keep improving week to week with no steps back and we'll all be very happy with the results I figure.

PS1985I mean that depends on how it’s worded lol cause yes teams have won 9-7 lol trans have won 15-14 and 18-14. So technically yes FG teams have beat TD teams haha. I would be interested to see if someone scored 3 TDS tho and lost with 8 fgs lol
Does 2014 Virginia Tech not count? Our 20th straight home opening win. Longest streak in CFB.
Technically the Buckeyes were the home team during the Navy game (I think) so I don't think so?Does 2014 Virginia Tech not count?

something else we may be seeing; mixing in all the zone is, essentially, designed to keep things in front of you and make the other team execute over the long field betting, obviously, that they can't do it.
One side effect of that approach is that it keeps your defense on the field longer and conversely lowers the number of play per game for your offense.
Total plays vs FAU: 74
Avg plays p/game 2018: 82.4
8 plays at 6.5 ypp is about 50 yards
50 yards is about 4 points
you need to see that 4 point delta made up for in defensive PPG allowed or the trade off isn't worth it
Last years defense gave up 25.5 p/game. Today was 21
not enough to draw any conclusions yet obviously but something to keep an eye on.
Hafley said they didn't make any adjustments because they knew they were going to win, and they just wanted to keep it simple.
Which is coach-speak for "they didn't want to put anything on film."
I don’t know man. I understand there were glimpses of absolute dominance; however, I’m really curious about how downfield passing is going to develop. We’ve seen how badly the offense can ossify when it’s an absent approach.
I’d like to see Fields make quick decisions on a more consistent basis; the offensive line definitely had moments of criticism but I can’t act like there weren’t instances in which he had almost 5 seconds because there were plenty.
So if we are going to tell ourselves no one was open, is there not reason to be concern that this group of receivers can’t get open against the no fly zone of fucking FAU?
Not panicking, but like Platt said there is a lot to clean up (at the very least).
Makes sense
The ability to mix coverage is the simple answer when people start beating the "soft spot in the zone" thing to death. It's the same as press man (or anything else in this world actually), if you are predictable and dogmatic there are ways by which you will be exploited. Sit in cover 3 all day and accurate passers (most teams) will pick you apart. We've seen what they do to you if they know you are in press man 90% of the time. Unpredictability, the ability to shape your opponent and adapt to your environment are the surest way (superior athletes sure as hell help).
As Bruce Lee said; "Be water my friend"
I think you're right, was just wondering!Technically the Buckeyes were the home team during the Navy game (I think) so I don't think so?
