A preview of the OSU vs. Louisville tennis match 4 pm this afternoon at Louisville from the Louisville website.

The University of Louisville men's tennis team will play host to third-ranked Ohio State Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Admission to the match is free.
"We are excited that the No. 3 team in the country will be at Bass-Rudd," said U of L tennis coach Rex Ecarma. "To get a non-conference team of this caliber to play us is important. They have won the Big Ten six years in a row and they are one of the favorites to win the national championship. We plan to battle and play to our strengths. Our team will always compete. We hope this match will attract a big crowd of people - even if they've never seen a tennis match. The match starts at 4 p.m., but we hope fans will come out and cheer us on at any point. There will be plenty of great tennis to see." . . .

Buckeyes will face a challenge in Louisville!
Of note, the Cardinals have a 31 match win streak at home, where they have not lost in almost 3 years!
The coach is promoting on campus for a big rowdy crowd to come and support the team for an upset, i.e. brutal, hostile venue. This will be the first match Buckeyes will play away from their home courts at the Varsity Indoor Tennis Center.
It appears that Buckeye fans can monitor the action online at:

I know it's the OSU tennis thread, but anyone watching davis cup? Great win from the Americans against the Swiss

Also, pretty sure that court they had to play on is the worst court ever created

I watched a bit. It is crazy how much better pro players are than any US college player. The game is just so physical now that anyone not in peak physical maturity doesn't stand a chance

For some reason, the Davis Cup has lost a lot of its luster over the years. I remember the good old days when it always boiled down to Australia (Laver/Newcomb) playing the United States (Smith/?) for the whole shebang. I don't know maybe there are too many countries involved now and the play has become watered down a little.

Michigan State begins Big Ten conference play Sunday taking on the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes at noon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. Students are encouraged to come to the game to cheer on the Spartans as there will be free pizza, and t-shirts along with a raffle for a prize pack and free tennis lessons from coach Gene Orlando.
Ohio State Scouting Ohio State is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, with a perfect 7-0 record, and all wins coming at home. They also captured their ITA Kick-Off Weekend Championship defeating Cornell and Indiana. The Buckeyes traveled to Louisville on Thursday for their first road match where they picked up a 6-1 victory over the Louisville Cardinals. Sunday's match-up also marks the Buckeye's first conference play action as well. Ohio State leads the all-time series against the Spartans 40-35 picking up a 7-0 victory last season over the Spartans as well as knocking them out of the Big Ten Tournament with a 4-0 win. . .

Starting to see a trend where teams are pulling out the stops with free stuff--pizza, t-shirts, raffles and free personal tennis lessons from the head coach, attempting to get a noisy crowd/make a hostile environment for the visitors. :susp:

It should be really special when the crowd sees how badly the home team gets embarrassed.:highfive:
