Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

In my mind, this game will be won or lost in the heads of the Buckeyes. They can't come out like they did against Tulsa. They need to be uptempo and deadly accurate in every detail.

They are going to have to deal with some adversity. Especially early.

OU is going to come out and take their absolute best shot.

Weather the early storm and keep punching them in the mouth along both lines. I think that OSU is going to be more physical than OU but sometimes that's a cumulative effect.

i keep seeing people reference we need to be up tempo more often in order to be successful in Norman....i think the game/opponent dictate that honestly. one of the things Tulsa's coach praised OSU the most on in his post game remarks was how JT/Staff slowed things down in the second half. said our halftime adjustments were fantastic

Maybe it's too early in the week but I'm just not that worried about Oklahoma. 9/10 they get absolutely smashed when they go up against any teams with elite talent. I think the Tulsa game was just a classic case of an inexperienced team making rookie mistakes that were expected in the first game, and even then those mistakes still resulted in a 45-point win. Coupled with the fact that Meyer is a significantly better big game coach than Stoops and I just can't be all that worried. I might feel differently in a couple of days.

Agree regarding Tulsa - also pairing what you said with the fact that we have a very young roster, which went out and destroyed the first team they played. While Meyer mentioned the maturity displayed during the rain delay, I can believe that there was some "We'll just throw our helmets on the field and win" coming from some of the younger players prior to kick off this past Saturday. I also think that the coaches didn't stick to just game planning Tulsa... which is to say, we worked on OU too last week.
