Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

I could go on and on making excuses about this game being in Houston in front of a lot of Cougar fans in a game where their primary objective is proving to the Big XII that they belong in our conference than beating OU.
I mean.....you could. But that would be stupid. As in.....even thinking of it would be stupid. Good thing you didn't really think of it.

He must be ecstatic that they aren't playing SMU in Dallas!

Actually, I'm not because SMU has a lot of hot (and smart) female students. Much of their student body consists of beautiful blonde Barbie dolls who are smart enough to keep OJ out of prison.

The first half against Tulsa revealed a bit about the character of this Buckeye team. Oklahoma will be a MUCH sterner test of their mettle, and they may put more points up against the Buckeyes than any other team this year. Perine is a question mark. He's been a rather fragile player, injured or playing hurt most of last year and this year. I felt a lot less secure a few days ago than I do today about the Buckeye secondary.

If the Buckeyes come out focused, establish a passing and running game and play good defense, then I think this could be a 7-10 point win. A first half like yesterday and they could still win, but I don't like their chances to do it.

Survive the initial burst from OU, keep fighting then impose your physical will on them along both lines of scrimmage.

OU scored first and led at half vs Clemson last year, they scored first and led Houston 10-3 after 1 this year. They are fighting for their season, at home at night. They are going to come out smoking. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10 to 17 point deficit early on.

That's all ok if the young Buckeye's can keep focused and keep fighting. OU is vulnerable along both lines imo, OSU has the more physically gifted big men but they are young. If OSU wins it will be due to the culture of competition and physical development built by Urban and Marotti.
