Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

Who is the person that Cobb is supposed to replace? What happened to him?

Cobb got the start over Dakota Austin, who got burned by Steven Dunbar of Houston last week. He gave up a 73-yard touchdown to a UL-Monroe receiver, even though that was in the second half when we were already up 42-0. I don't know, I'm just a tad too critical on some of the OU players at times.

I could go on and on making excuses about this game being in Houston in front of a lot of Cougar fans in a game where their primary objective is proving to the Big XII that they belong in our conference than beating OU.
As opposed to OU, which has never been worried about being humbled (yet again) on the big stage?

You said yourself that you were more worried about Houston. This wasn't a paycheck game against UTEP where you slept through it.

I honestly still don't have much confidence in this game. I would've had Oklahoma been highly ranked and undefeated. Plus I was banking on us being big underdogs

However they're home under dogs, at night and fighting for their playoff lives. That's motivation that we just don't have.

Would I be surprised If osu wins? Absolutely not but I just see this one being a close loss. I don't predict many losses for us and thankfully when I do I'm wrong.

This games all hinges on can we contain their run game. We hold Oklahoma in check and we win.

The beautiful thing the db's have done thus far this season is causing turnovers at an insanely high rate. This will be all over the film for OK so hopefully it causes those moments of doubt for the qb, hesitation can kill. The Buckeye d line has to take advantage, their turn to make a statement.

Oklahoma recently plays better after they've been beaten. For some reason they always choke a game away, and then start playing like their over hyped preseason expectations. Hopefully the OLine plays better from the start, the play calling resembles the BG game more than the Tulsa game, and the D continues to be lights out.

I see this game with a 10 point difference at most. Win or lose. UFM needs to have them focused as if they're underdogs. Defensively I trust our secondary enough to bring a ton of pressure on Mayfield. Offensively they need to open the playbook up early not play conservative to open up. I look back to the playcalling we used against Wisconsin a few years ago hitting them downfield wary then take over the game running the ball downhill. Luckily the Houston games give the staff some good film to find what works and what wasn't executed by Houston with a similar offense.
