I don't have up to date info (this is from a couple weeks ago), but I've been told by someone who has spoken with Koufus that he's gone.

Well that's too bad because he seriously needs to toughen up! He's got great skills, but he needs to go after rebounds with a lot more intensity. Also, he seems a little lax when someone throws him a quick, hard pass inside and often doesn't squeeze it.

Lots of issues with this team though...thought scUM just looked like they wanted it more. Of course they got some clutch 3s that really helped open it up, but they played harder.

What does it say about the Bucks that they lose so many close ones? Last year's team pulled all those out. I know a little luck is involved, but to me it's intensity, desire, and mental toughness.

So Matta is no longer perfect against the Wolverinies. That sucks! :sad2:

I'm going to go against the grain here and say Ohio State didn't lose this game, since we really didn't play that badly. Michigan won it with outstanding clutch shooting and some fairly good (for Michigan) decision-making. Butler had a bad shooting day, but Koufos, Turner and Diebler did some nice things. Koufos had some excellent rebounds, as did Turner.

This is still a very bad loss that probably put us on the bubble. We likely need to win out.

Michigan has been coached very badly this year IMO. No way they should have as bad a record as they do. Way too much talent there to have lost so many games.

I agree with that last paragraph. I agree more so with how we lost with OSUBballJunkie. I mean really, when it came down to it, they were more motivated, and that was a leadership issue.

Not pointing fingers, but we didn't make shots down the stretch.

And yea, scUM blows.

The effort was there......just not smart basketball at crucial times in the game.......leadership is what we are missing.......

We have zero end-of-game leadership. Today is just another example of that and while I love what Butler has done for the last four years he just isn't a floor leader.

Thank you for that, now I have something to say to the only scUM bastard I know.

:oh:

No worries. I'd gove you an I-O but am posting from a bar on my blackjack, and it won't let me use emoticons.

To answer another poster: no way Koufos is tough enough for the NBA. He'll get eaten alive.

Talent? We have started Merritt and CJ lee numerous times this year and both are walk-ons. Explain to me how we have been coached bad this year?

Not saying UM should be in the hunt for the tourney, but losing to the much-maligned Amaker with Harvard talent is not excusable.

Just manually type in ": gobucks1 :" for the "OH" and ": gobucks2 :" for the "IO" emoticons (without the parentheses and no spaces between colons and text).

:oh: :io:

or, for Manfred:

Guys who are blowing a gasket - let's calm down.

Contrary to the assertion of the announcers this is a very young Ohio State team (the announcers were applauding the effort of the young TSUN squad).

Koufos isn't playing the dominating game we saw from Oden last year - this is not a surprise, Oden was a #1 lottery pick, Koufos, right now is not and never may be. Koufos is a completely different player.

Yes, Butler is likely out there on the floor too long. But, realistically do we really believe PJ Hill would do all that Butler can do for the team? Do we really believe that Crater will not be an attractive option at PG next year, even with Hill having a year under his belt?

Let us also not forget that Conley played himself into the lottery last year, it was generally expected that he would be here until late in the year.

As for Matta's coaching vs. recruiting talents - how may 20 win seasons must Matta pull in before he is given credit on the day when the team suffers a defeat?

DeShawn Sims and Manny Harris are both big-time players, and both are likely to play in the League. And Michigan has won 8 times in 25 games. That's bad coaching, to perform so badly with so much talent.

I'm glad Wolverine fans are so happy with their coach. Nothing pleases me more than living with continued mediocrity in our northern rivals.

Oh, one more question -- after seeing DickRod and his lovely bride in the stands, am I the only one who wonders what she charges for a lap dance?

After watching the weasels win at Iowa this past week I knew we could be in trouble. I mean what was their percentage on three-point shooting. Sometimes our zone defense is very good in covering the outside shots but I don't think we played that well on our perimeter defense today. It seemed like a few times we would lose a guy and he would have a wide-open shot.

We could have really opened the game up at the beginning of the second half but missed some easy shots and a couple turnovers did us in. I did not think any of our guys jacked up crazy shots but we were not hitting the outside shot consistently. It was a typical game for this year's team.

I was saying that if we beat Wisconsin which is highly possible. Take care of business at Minnesota and beat Purdue or Michigan State that we would get into the tournament. This game was a bad loss but the weasels are improving and will probably win a few more games before the season is out which will not make this loss too bad:( regarding our quest for the tournament.

nice choke job butler, would've thought 4 years of playing might make someone play the game intelligently, apparently not as he turns the ball over endlessly and plays ZERO defense. Anybody know why Terwilliger still thinks he can shoot the 3 ball ? i have yet to see him make one all season, i wanted to kill him during the MSU game when he shot like 6 of 'em.

Quintessential Ohio State basketball 'fan'.

Winning on the road is difficult, people. And when the other team is 20-24 from the line and hits ten three-pointers, you have to play pretty much flawlessly. No, the zone didn't do a great job of stretching to challenge the perimeter shots, and yes, OSU could have played smarter down the stretch. Nonetheless, they were up against a very motivated team. They tried, it didn't happen. It is not the end of their season, nor is it the end of their tournament hopes. Seriously--is the Chicken Little routine ever going to get old?

Why does this team think that every time we're down by two or three points, they have to chuck up an ill-advised shot(3-pointer 99% of the time)? How in the hell is Koufos the player of the game? 9-19!!! Are you kidding me? The guy never passes out of double coverage and misses more bunnies than Shaq misses free throws!!! All I can say is no offense to the young men of Greece, but they must really suck ass over there. We shouldn't have any problem in the olympics in the future. If I were P.J. Hill I would be second guessing coming to Ohio State. If that was me and Matta told me I wasn't even good enough to give Jamar a 2 minute break each half, I would say FU coach, i Quit!!! Matta is not that great of a coach in my opinion. He can recruit but is terrible at calling timeouts when we need them. I'm tired of giving teams 15 three pointers a game because of the zone defense and watching one guy in the paint with the ball and the other four outside of the arc playing a game of euchre!!! Do you know why we play zone? Because Matta has to keep Jamar going somehow. If we played man Jamar would wear down even faster. What is Jamar's shooting percentage since calling out the team? I bet it's worse than Diebler. Lighty must be partying too much because his head is everywhere else but in the game. This team makes me sick. Thank God I don't have the Big Ten network. Less games I have to suffer through!!

Christ you're stupid.

I have half a mind to delete this shit, but I want as many people as possible to see how much of an imbecile you are.
