Some of you need to step away...just gave out 3-4 infractions for ridiculous posts.

You know what we expect here and if you cannot follow it, go somewhere else.

Expect some changes coming to this forum ASAP.

Ridiculous.

i think the whole team suffers when Butler can't hit his shots (although he plays virtually every minute of every game) But this is a vastly inexperienced team who a lot of the time just stands around on offense waiting for the guy with the ball to do something

The one good thing is that we do not have another game until next Sunday which will benefit the younger guys in some good old Matt teaching and helping the entire team get some rest for the stretch run.

I wish guys would stop bashing the players. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Every player has their good games and their bad so let's get over the individual player bashing.

Christ you're stupid.

I have half a mind to delete this shit, but I want as many people as possible to see how much of an imbecile you are.

Some people have knee-jerk reactions to dissapointing losses, but apparently some people check their common sense and few brain cells they have at the door before they post.

Getting back to today, a tough loss no doubt but NOT:

Definately room for improvement but it's not as though the team is going out there trying to find a way to lose. There is still time left in this season and we don't want to become what they call us on MSU and IU forums, Fair Weather Fans. We are ALL better fans than to bash our team. You can be critical without making an ass of yourself.

It's spelled right out in the forum rules:

With the traffic on the Buckeye Planet Basketball Forum increasing every day and the outlook of the team growing brighter every year, the Basketball Moderators feel it is important to lay out a few simple rules we ask everyone to follow. ...

2) Absolutely No bashing of a player, regardless of his or her performance, will be tolerated.

So saying, for example:

Some Jackass said:
Lighty must be partying too much because his head is everywhere else but in the game. This team makes me sick.

...is completely unacceptable. The posts are staying for now as shining examples of what not to do; similar posts in the future will be deleted and the poster reprimanded.

This forum is here to allow you all to discuss the team and its collective performance constructively--not to pointlessly criticize members of the team. Good game or bad, they are better at what they do than most of you busy bemoaning their existences ever will be at anything. So there's that.

Here out (and clearly this doesn't apply to everyone), keep it above the belt. Doesn't mean you can't be upset/dissatisfied/what have you. Just means you might actually have to think about what you're posting before you click 'submit'.

Holy moly!

I'm frustrated with the game today, too, but some folks have lost it.

One, this is not the worst team in basketball history. We're 17-9.

Two, last year was special. If you think we're going 32-3 or whatever every year you're delusional.

Three, scUM played VERY well today and has been improving of late. Anyone who didn't think today would be a tough game doesn't know much about basketball.

Let's see how our boys respond with a week off to rest and prepare for the final stretch. :oh::io:

Not so fast my friend. We got some good teams coming to Columbus and there is always the Big 10 tournament. I like our chances for the Dance.

only 3 true road wins (Penn State Northwestern and Illinois)

and 2 terrible road losses (@ 11-15 Iowa and @ 8-17 Michigan)

will most likely keep us out, unless they somehow manage to win out

I agree, all we need is two wins vs. the top of our conference or a run to the finals in the tourny and I like our chances of getting in, especially since 'Cuse beat Georgetown.

Also... I think the game today showed that Kosta could really benefit from another year in college hoops. He had a good game, and he has all of the tools to become a star in the NBA, but his strength still needs some work. He had a few balls just ripped away from him today. Also the announcers made a good point today when he went to the bench. When he makes one mistake, the problem is that the mistake multiplies and turns into multiple ones. That is something that can be fixed just from experience and maturity.

Wow... reading this thread disturbs me, a lot.

Guys, first off, for those of you expecting the team of last year to take the floor, you need to wake up, we lost Cook, Conley and Oden to the NBA, we're a young team and this was a conference game. Yes, it may be the dreaded wolverines, but still, it's a game, and these are kids, not professional athletes. If you want to bash the Cavs players for not making shots, then go for it, but these kids are going to school, and playing while they attend, they aren't being paid to play.

Sure, it sucks to lose, everyone knows that, hell, I don't think you'll find a fan in the world who goes "well, we lost but I am happy about it" and if you do, odds are he's painting the walls with his feces and eating crayons while wearing some form of jacket that holds his arms around his shoulders to keep him from hurting himself. But, it's not the end of the world, it's a game.

Totally agree... I have been wondering all year why he seems so down on himself when Thad takes him out periodically. I also agree about the strength factor but he was also whacked a couple times and never got to FT line.
