Game Thread Ohio State 43, Youngstown St. 0 (Aug. 30)

Geez, from the sound of things here on BP, I was thinking even torn Achilles tendon.

Both this and your later post talking about how we made it sound are spot on. Yes, we did make it sound bad to those of you who can only follow the game on this thread and on the text play-by-play streaming etc...

But it really did look that bad. I speak for all of us here (and everyone in the stadium) that we were surprised to see Beanie putting weight on that leg.

I highly doubt that the MRI comes back negative though. We are anything but out of the woods here.

Holy crap is our secondary good! I know it's YSU but we're playing 3rd stringers and dominating. Lane is playing really well!

Our defense was ridiculous. YSU had NO HOPE. I have never seen such a dominant performance by a defense that played THAT vanilla. No threat whatsoever.

Best news from the game:

Both Beanie's X-Rays and the Penguin's Rushing Yards were negative.

I just returned from the game. It was a lot of fun to watch such a dominating performance. We have some special freshmen.. Pryor looked nervous, but you can tell he's going to be something. Posey looked really, really good. Hartline had some nice grabs. The deep ball catch was fantastic. Defense looked insane.

Get well, Beanie. That stadium was rocking after the TD run.

My overall thought about the game...YSU is terrible. Other than that, who knows how good we really are. Are we good? Yes, that's obvious. Are we NC good? Can't tell, because I think a bunch of teams in the country would have looked equally as good against YSU. The rest of the season, except maybe next week, won't look that easy. We could be amazing, but it's still too early to tell based upon this game. Defense looked perfect, but again, we should against them. YSU is in a transition year. This is the worst team Ohio State has played in a long long time. Most positive thing I saw out of this game was Terrelle Pryor, he played really well for his first game. I hope he looks that fast against USC.

I guess my point is, Ohio State took care of business, and other than 3rd down conversions and red zone offense, couldn't have looked any better. I'm very excited about this season, but i'm trying to be realistic in how bad YSU is. But I don't see any flaw in this team right now which would lead me to believe we won't be 12-0. And I have a firm belief that this team can go 12-0, even without Beanie Wells, but hopefully we won't have to find out if that is true or not.

Jerry DiNardo is an idiot. "Penn St. is the most impressive team in the Big 10 today." Dumb ass

I'm not too worried that Joe Paterno will be able to give his Depend undergarments a workout when we rock up for the game.

Tressel says Beanie is okay, it's "more of a foot thing"

Tressel describes Beanie as a warrior. Ohio State has excellent medical and sports science facilities. If they can find a way through this they will.

Let's all remember Woody's maxim: "Out of every bad thing, you get a good thing."
