Game Thread Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)

Welcome to the site TSU, feel free to chime in on some of the aspects of your team in the troy game thread, things we would not know having limited access to your team.

Look for an exhaustive Troy-OSU preview on the frontpage about midweek, it usually hits Wednesday, thursday at the latest.

Always appreciate having outside opinions on the game.
i don't know how logical that statement is if your really a troy trojan fan, because i know i wouldn't want my team to play against him
It's called being classy.

Reguardless this tOSU team should be ready to play this week after two straight dismal performances as noted. However I do hope beanie can just get healthy for the big ten season and maybe rejuvinate the team, we all know it's much needed.
:oh:

Maybe TSU1997 just wants to see his team go up against the best possible lineup. There are opposing fans like that, you know...

I don't think Beanie will play this week and I don't think they should even try to see if he can go.

It's going to be tough to rebound but hopefully the guys can put yesterday in perspective. It'll be interesting to see what the offense does this week now that they are free to open it up (like they weren't for YSU or OU) I think the concepts that they introduced during the USC game were pretty good, its just the execution against a great team like that that was lacking. (Along with perhaps maybe even getting a little too cute, particularly near the goal line on the first drive)

Hey, just wanted to stop by to say hello and get some feedback on this weeks matchup with Troy.
After yesterday's performances, does anyone else think that Troy gives us a better game than Michigan? That Troy has a legitimate chance of winning?

I certainly look for the Buckeyes to rebound, but Troy is no pushover and they will be fired up for the game. You are catching the Bucks at the right time - does the team sack up and play football like their legacies are on the line, or do pout and doubt after another blow out on a national stage? Should be a very interesting game that will say a lot about the character of this Buckeye squad (and I do think that they have a lot of character).

Troy keeps it close for a while, but talent wins out - Ohio State 34, Troy 16

I like our team to play against the best possible team and Beanie makes your team better. Our team is a scrappy bunch that plays every play as if it's their last. We had a 16 day layoff because the LSU game got pushed back. I wish we could have got that game in to give us a measuring stick to see what kind of team we really have. On paper we are good but we all are BCS champions on paper. We were a little rusty yesterday but was able to shake the rust off after the drives. I look forward to coming up and watching a game in the shoe.

There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you. -Woody Hayes.

Somebody hang this on a banner at the WHAC.

They should be pissed off right now. Hopefully they come out pissed off and take out their anger on everyone they face the rest of this year.

If they do that, then I feel kinda sorry for Troy.

The book has been well written on how to beat OSU and Troys athletes will play with emotion (well to be fair so will OSU's but apathy isn't an emotion that wins a lot of football games).

I think TP and as much of the Brew Crew as we can get on the field is the only hope for this team going forward. I don't think we can count on Beanie the rest of the year and I know we can't count on our existing OL and QB to get the job done against the better teams left on the schedule.

Wisconsin and PSU stand a chance to give us a serious mauling in the trenches. Illinois offense is tailor made to shred our D, ditto Northwestern and MSU.

I'm saying right now that without Beanie we will not win the B10 as we are currently constructed.

Unfortunately, I agree. :(

I agree, those kids are going to get their asses kicked for the next week, I figure by Saturday they should be looking for someone to take their frustrations out on.

To be fair, we've heard all the soundbytes for 3 years now. How much they learned from this humiliating defeat or how motivated they are by the negative press from that ass beating, they want to shut up all the doubters etc.

All I would say to them is spare us the anger/moral outrage angle and just do something on the field.

When in the last three years have we played a game a calendar week after getting ape-fucked? That's what I thought...

With or without Beanie, we are going to play the same game. No matters who carries the ball we are still going to have to tackle them.. We have played man child running back before..

Sorry, not trying to derail the topic but as I read it in bpspy I am confused by this term, "man child." What does that mean?
