Game Thread Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)

Had an opportunity to watch the game again and man once again it seemed OSU really hurt itself with some flat out bad plays. I am sure the same can be said if you are a Troy fan but here are some quick things I payed attention to.

Robo had a couple of really bad plays that he typically makes, well last year he would typically make. The one jump ball on the left side in the first quarter it was well defended but he had possesion of it and the db did not make a play on the ball. It was high, but Pryor put only where Robo could make a play but couldn't come down with it. Next was the half a$$ effort he gave on the broken play across the middle. That is a TD and the game is 14-0. Instead we have a terrible punt and Troy kicks a FG making it a 11 point game instead of 14-0 with a long field. Third play was when Pryor made a sick juke and fake and hit a wide open Robo, but he stepped out of bounds on his own. I tried to see why he did but didn't see any reason as to why he did. Perhabs that is why he was open in the first place as the db gave up on him.

Hartline had a terrible clip penalty and missed a lot of blocks down field. He did make some good catches though. Sanz did an AWESOME job of blocking and I saw a couple of plays where Posey did as well.

Our running game looked better this week. The only times Troy made a good play was when we didn't get to the second level. I saw Brewster on the ground a couple of times and Cordle get caught in traffic but all in all a lot better.

Thaddeus is going to be a wrecking ball against teams that need to throw the ball downfield or teams that have a more traditional offense...He will get better and better.

The LB's had an ok game. Correction, James had a solid game and Freeman really played as bad as my first impressions. He was lost on coverage a couple of times (take that with a grain of salt it is hard to tell the coverages calls) and was just a non factor again. I hope we get to see a package of James at SAM, Sabino at Mike, and Freeman at WILL. That is putting a lot of faith in Sabino and it unproven but anything to get Marcus back at WILL is going to be a good move.

Hines played some football on Saturday. Still out of position at times but he is going to be a star for the Buckeyes.

Saine - Kicking a dead horse, not the same since the injury.

I really think this game is totally different if Robo catches that ball for a touchdown. Two huge plays by the young QB, Tory pinned deep again, we have field position, yadda, yadda, yadda could have would have.

I am looking fwd to the game Saturday.
