Game Thread Ohio 14, Ohio State 26 (Sept. 6)

ESPN - Big Ten
Here are 10 things to keep an eye on:

2. Boom and Zoom:With Beanie Wells out, the spotlight turns to Ohio State's young running backs Dan "Boom" Herron and Brandon "Zoom" Saine, who along with Maurice Wells will carry the rushing load against Ohio. The Buckeyes need every weapon they can muster for USC, and the performances of the three backs against Ohio could loom large for next week.

Ohio State 45, Ohio 7 -- No Beanie, no problem for the Buckeyes, who have the chance to showcase their creativity on offense before the USC game. Running backs Dan "Boom" Herron, Mo Wells and Brandon Saine have big games as the Buckeyes roll. Ohio has some speed threats in wideout Taylor Price and return man Donte Harden, but the Buckeyes defense stands tall again.

Yo peeps. I am over in Monaco. Tough duty but someone has to do it.

Can I get the game streamed on the net? ESPN Game plan?

Any ideas or help is most apreciated. I bring a Cuban back...well maybe not.

I saw an ad on tv saying ESPN would make the game available on ESPN360.com(??). Not sure if there's a subscription fee or not.

My wife has the best boss ever. He was called out of town, so he just walked in and handed her two tickets to the game tomorrow.

My first OSU game in the horseshoe in 10 years.

... awesome.

COLUMBUS - Ohio State football fans are professional worriers.
If Chris Wells' foot injury hadn't happened, they would have found something else to lose sleep over.
One fear that I heard before the great Wells Watch began was that maybe knocking off two cupcakes like Youngstown State and Ohio University wouldn't prepare the Buckeyes for the challenge of playing at No. 1-ranked Southern California next week.
It's not a bad question. But what does recent history tell us about the effect of playing cupcakes on eventual national champions?

My brother-in-law called a couple of days ago with tickets. He supplies the tickets to the OU game, I supply the food and the tramsportation. Leaving early from Toledo to do some tail gating. See you in the Shoe. Looking forward to a great day with the Buckeyes.

:oh:

Does anyone else get tired of the little ankle biters of CFB who want to shock the world and act like their team is actually good? Those OS who? tshirts. What a joke. Sadly, after OU is stomped once again their fans will say they new it would happen and then show up next time saying they will shock the world, come up with another not so clever tshirt, lose by a ton, go back to their holes, re emerge, and the cycle starts again.

Weekend Watch List: Miami-Florida don't mean a thing with regular meeting - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Standings, Stats
All is not Wells: So what do we know about the tailbacks behind Beanie Wells? Now that Ohio State's Heisman-candidate tailback is officially out for Ohio University (at least), WWL takes this look at the depth chart as a public service.

Wells' absence won't be an issue Saturday as Wells grabs a blow, hoping to heal up for USC. But you'll thank WWL later if Wells doesn't make it back by Sept. 13. These are the guys who are going to have to carry the team at least until then:

? Redshirt freshman Dan Herron is from the same high school as Maurice Clarett, Warren (Ohio) Harding. He debuted with 17 yards in five carries against Youngstown State.

? Sophomore Brandon Saine was the 2006 Mr. Football in Ohio and is expected to be a future star. The speedster has 287 career yards.

? Maurice Wells (no relation) is a journeyman senior who has averaged less than four yards per carry in his career. Wells might be leaned on heavily if called upon against USC considering his experience (759 career yards).

? Might as well throw Terrelle Pryor in the mix. The freshman quarterback is potentially a running game unto himself. The dual-threat quarterback had an impressive debut against Youngstown State (52 yards rushing, one touchdown).
