What BS!
Wiltfong saying that it will more than likely be a 1 game suspension
It's a wonder why those warm weather schools have such a leg up on Ohio (sarcasm font). They need to get a clue and drop this one.

Hard disagree! This is an asinine rule, and has no reasoning behind it. sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, lacrosse, etc can all be played in club settings throughout the year with no issues. Football is the only sport that kids are punished for playing in camps to work on their craft. The HC and AD wouldn’t be present at an independent 7 on 7 event. McNutt plays for a team out of Houston, TX and was at an event in Miami, FL, but because he’s from OH he can’t participate. What a crock of $h!tOHSAA shouldn’t be blamed for this. It is in their rules. Why weren’t the Head Coach and AD there to explain the rules? I do understand the frustration with some of the rules but this one should have been understood by the adults at his school.

Btw, Trey Mcnutt’ mom said he’s transferring out of state for his Senior season if he gets suspended for playing 7v7. So OH could lose a top flight talent due to archaic rules
Don’t disagree the rule is wrong but rules are rules and the HC and AD should be teaching kids about the rules and the adults should be held responsible!
OHSAA is going to do what the big schools want it to do, sure.I’m not sure this rule fits into this category, however a lot of the rules OHSAA uses are passed by the schools. Some of those rules make absolutely no sense to me (and others). I just want everyone to understand it may not be OHSAA doing (but it may too).
