2025 OH S Trey McNutt (Oregon Verbal)

My buddy who's the Miami fan seems to think that McNutt is going to Coral Gables. He's visiting with his mother this weekend. I still think McNutt is a Buckeye in the end

So apparently, McNutt took a visit to Miami this weekend, and all of the sudden Miami coaches "decide to go in a different direction":roll1:

What actually happened(I'm guessing, but sounds more likely) is Trey probably told them thanks for the trip, but he wasn't interested in going to Miami. I find it highly unlikely that coaches from any D1 school in America would willingly turn down the #1 S in the country

I broke up with her before she broke up with me syndrome at Cryami. I found it highly unlikely that McNutt would wind up in Miami, but with crootin you never know for sure.

I think they expected him to transfer to a SoFL school when the 7v7 issue arose. Now that the rule is overturned and he’s staying in OH, it seems even though they had a slim chance, and he just took a visit and that chance is slimmer. OSU Still sitting in the lead in this one. Guerrieri is doing a great job with this one too

The No. 1 safety prospect in the 2025 cycle per 247Sports’ composite rankings, McNutt is the son of Richard McNutt, who played cornerback at Ohio State from 1999-2002.

“He just said it’s a great program," the younger McNutt said last June when asked what his father has said about playing for Ohio State. "He played in the 2002 championship, so yeah, it’s just amazing. “I ain’t grow up in Columbus, but knowing that my family did, all the dogs who have been here, it's a great feeling knowing I could maybe have a chance to rep O-State.”

While McNutt will likely go through the recruiting process and take his official visits, Ohio State feels good about its chances of eventually securing the commitment of the Buckeye legacy.

Just sayin': Maybe we'll have another "McNutt for Heisman" campaign at Ohio State.

Don't like it when McNutt, Dorian, etc slide from page one of recruiting down to page three.....bumping to bring them back for some new info? Anyone? Silent Commit? He says hopefully....
I can't say if he is an actual silent commit (not privy to this recruitment), but I get the sense this is a foregone conclusion that he ends up in the 614 and he is enjoying his recruitment until then. Even with Woodby gone, would you take a class of Sanchez, Offord, Brew, McNutt and Delane? Rhetorical question but in terms of true safeties (I see Brew as possibly a safety, but more in a hybrid/slot role), McNutt and Delane would be a ridiculous safety class. Legit #1 and #2 if it happens.

Watched talking stuff this AM with Brim, he currently doesn't see McNutt in this class at this moment. McNutt is on a visit to UGA this weekend I believe. Seems even being a Legacy and OH recruit, he is more than happy to leave home. Ohio State isn't going to get the hometown discount in this one. IMO, even though you can see the opportunity to play early based on our roster turnover. We are bringing in a ton of talent which may be seen as a negative.

I think McNutt becomes a Buckeye in the end, but its not a foregone conclusion, he wants to be recruited, and he's said that his entire process.
And the same goes for Brew.
@NCBuckeye86 is correct in saying that Birm said on Talking Stuff that as of TODAY he doesn't have McNutt in this class. But there is a long time to go in this recruitment
