Cool to see the lives of a recruit during the recruiting process
I really love that Day has turned it up a notch on Ohio kids. Him and his coaches are squeezing every bit of time and opportunity they have for in-state visits and build on their relationships.
Surprised that it’s not St. ClairAlso helps that the Ohio recruiting pool talent has gone up a notch lately and especially in '25. McNutt, Brew (consider him Ohio even though he moved to Texas) St. Clair, Lowe, Bo Jackson, Marquise Davis, Hill, Gilbert...all legit prospects and that forms a great start to the class alone (and of course we have OOS studs like Sanchez, Mathis, Woodby, and Boggs already). Didn't even realize McNutt is the #1 ranked player in Ohio for '25, would be great to have him in the fold early.
I think its just cyclical, and OSU has a lot of talent in 2025 and 2026. But its taken some years to get to this point.Believe it's great that the Ohio kids are 'good enough' to receive committable offers, rather than non-committable ones. Guess that indicates that Ohio players are at or near to national kids in the recruiting cycle. Kind of a knock if tOSU says we like you, but we really want a better player, so we're going to slow-play you until we see if we can get xxxxx. Whereas if they say you have a committable, that's an acknowledgement that you're good enough to be a Buckeye regardless. Maybe it goes back to that philosopher, John Cooper, when he said "if you miss on a guy, you've got to face him once a year, but if you take a guy and he doesn't pan out, you've got to see him every day." Paraphrased by my diminishing memory. Go Bucks!
