2025 OH S Trey McNutt (Oregon Verbal)

Could be something, could be nothing. Its been said that OSU is trying to do a small more intimate visit weekend towards the end of the month with their highest rated recruits, here's to hoping McNutt visits

That is definitely means something for the Ducks. Not sure if it relates to OSU, but it would be great if it did.

Easy “pass” for me.
Too early to say that imo, I don't see red flags (maybe there are that I am not privy to, but no way of knowing). I just see a kid that might want a destiny outside of his father's path/shadow at OSU and with a mix of NIL opportunities to be weighed. Like it or not, that is the new world of recruiting.

I would still be stoked to land Trey and really want to, but if he goes elsewhere we should remember that we have Delane and Haddad...almost every school in the country would be thrilled with that safety class, objectively thrilled. McNutt is so talented that you can't throw in the towel on his recruitment, but you can live with him going elsewhere. Honestly I just want to see Sanders commit to the good guys and whatever else happens at this point is gravy (not accounting for decommits).

What’s crazy is that the NCAA could’ve implemented NIL decades ago and also build rules and guidelines But chose to keep up the student-athlete charade. I’m actually surprised that NIL hasn’t been worse. The actual numbers I’ve heard are not all that crazy, and the collectives are now expecting a return and also aren’t tolerating knuckleheads if they’re providing them with a paycheck.

My fault, back to Trey

Oh, to be a 5* in this NIL atmosphere. Never know what goes on at a highly touted recruit's dinner table. A pushy parent (like me), or a 'let them do it themselves' (my wife) kinda balance out. Every kid wants what's best, and candidly, this sort of attention only comes around once in a lifetime. Who among you have had corporations throwing money your way, fighting to get your financial/sales/computing etc skills to come work for them? Certainly not me....anyway, looking through my S&G spectacles, see a young man that wants to forge his own path, and at 18 making the most important decision of his young lifetime. He's taking his time, looking at some pretty solid schools, and trying to separate the good points of each from the BS that many recruiters are throwing his way. I'm certainly not 'in the know', but am in the camp of believing that once the smoke clears, Trey will don the Scarlet & Gray. Guess this is kinda like the three hats on the table thing, only on steroids. Go Bucks!:banger:
