OH OL Tommy Kraemer (Notre Dame Signee)

FOOTBALL RECRUITING: THE BIG WEEKEND TAKES A HIT
It's September 2nd and with that, we're one day into the allowable contact period for juniors and the Buckeyes have been very active on that front, reaching out to a number of their top prospects just minutes after midnight on September the 1st.

"I think it was 12:02," Cincinnati Elder 2016 offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer told Eleven Warriors of when Ohio State contacted him.
There was some hullaballoo in our forums yesterday about a quote from 2016 Cleveland St. Ignatius lineman Liam Eichenberg. Essentially, Eichenberg stated that he's not developed — as of yet — as strong of a relationship with Ohio State's Ed Warinner as he has with coaches at other schools, namely Notre Dame and Michigan, who are each currently "ahead" of the Buckeyes on the four-stars list. This echoes what I mentioned a couple of months ago, as I said the Buckeyes had work to do with both Eichenberg and Kraemer, citing the relationship with Warinner as something that needed developing.

Now that contact is permitted on a more regular basis, expect Warinner — and Urban Meyer, and Mark Pantoni, and everyone wearing a whistle at Ohio State — to become much more involved with the bookend tackles from the Great State of. The fact that Kraemer was contacted so quickly after midnight shows the Buckeyes aren't messing around here and Kraemer gave a bit of good news for Buckeye fans yesterday.

"I'm supposed to talk to Ohio State tonight," Kraemer said. "I'm not committing anywhere until the spring or next summer. I want them to make sure they know I'm not making a decision anytime soon."

Kraemer and Eichenberg are both planning on being in attendance for Ohio State's rivalry game against Michigan. Kraemer will be at Notre Dame this weekend as they host the Wolverines.

The Hurry Up
KRAEMER VS KRAEMER
Perhaps the most discussed player in Ohio's talent-rich 2016 recruiting class, Tommy Kraemer, could be very close to the end of his recruitment. That news, however, isn't exactly ideal for the Buckeyes. Kraemer has said repeatedly that a decision wasn't coming until following his junior season at least, but it appears that could be changing.

"I'm not sure," Kraemer said about the increasing rumors surrounding a potential weekend commit to Notre Dame, where he'll be visiting. "I'm taking an overnight visit there Saturday and meeting with the staff Sunday. We'll see how that goes."

Throughout his recruiting process, Kraemer has been one of the more likable kids I've ever spoken with. He's thoughtful, decent, respectful and always honest, so him changing his tune on a possible commitment is something to pay attention to. He says though, nothing is decided yet.

"Nothing is set in stone," he added. "Sitting down with my family and talking over everything has really helped me a lot (in figuring things out). It's a decision that will be about what's best for me whenever the decision is made, but nothing is set in stone."

Kraemer and his Elder Panthers take on Ohio State 2015 commitment Justin Hilliard and Cincinnati St. Xavier Friday night. He'll depart for South Bend on Saturday and if I were a betting man, my money would be on him returning Sunday committed to the Irish.

If there's any silver lining for Ohio State it is this: there's a long way to go before he signs with Notre Dame, or anyone else. The Buckeyes won't stop their recruitment, and nor should they. Kraemer is the best player in Ohio for 2016 and at a position of great importance for the Buckeyes.

unfortunately sounds like we are about to. man i hate notre _ame

Were not losing anything of he commits. All it means is that they're a leader, OSU will be in this until the end. No way Meyer and staff back off. There's way too much time until the 2016, NSD sit back and enjoy the ride. Let's not act like Meyer hasn't flipped recruits before.
