Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

Well then I suppose you should take up your argument with everyone else, b/c I'm not interested in discussing Woodley, Harris, Burgess, etc. I think Hall got exposed badly in the past two games, much like what happened to "All Americans" Marlin Jackson & Ernest Shazor. It wasn't just superstars giving him trouble either, as seen by Robo's broken tackle.

how do you feel Hall did covering WRs in the last two games? Does that not impact his draft stock? He was projected as a 6-10 pick before 11/18.

I could understand it if he had excellent measurables or was a bit raw (ie Gamble), but he is fairly polished imo. I think he's more of a mid-first pick.

I agree with you on that, but teams like the Texans, 49ers, and Dolphins could really use a CB (Texans especially, that secondary is devoid of talent outside of Dunta) and I think that team need will overshadow Hall's flaws.

An interesting note, a site I use a lot now has Darrelle Revis ranked over Hall now.

BROWNS BEAT STEVE DOERSCHUK

Yo, Adrian. Who are you? That's the $50 million-dollar "yo" staring the Browns in the face. Will Adrian Peterson be an instant NFL star, a running back so good he'll help any team that drafts him faster than any other player could? Or is he damaged goods, a LaDainian Tomlinson talent in Lee Suggs' body?

The Browns are not taking a defensive tackle from Michigan over a bookend from Wisconsin. It's not happening. Savage will have to side with the guy that got some good coaching and discipline in college. The Braylon Edwards experience has exposed the Michigan staff has having a poor ability to control the egos of their players...

to be fair, a lot of folks aren't that high on joe thomas. i highly doubt cleveland takes him at #3/4. However, I'd love for them to swindle Zona into thinking that they are.

dumbest mock ever.

I can't disagree. Marshawn Lynch in the top 10 and not Adrian Peterson... WTF?

Anyways, I've been trying to read the tea leafs and if I had to venture my best guess at this point, I would say the Brownies are leaning toward Peterson if he is available. If so, you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be looking at a return to "Martyball." I mainly say this because I read some quotes (ABJ) from Savage talking about how Droughns can fill other rolls than the feature back. From the sound of things, they will be looking to address the OL issues in free agency. It's also hard to get a read on what Savage wants to do because he supposedly believes in taking the best availble player on the board in the 1st round regardless of position. So, draft day could be intersting.

Yep. Due to Edwards' inability to meet expectations regarding (1) talent and (2) maturity, it will be a long time before the Browns waste another top 5 pick on a Michigan player.

Braylon definitely has talent and hes shown flashes of it (see 1st Steelers game this year). Hes just a pretty boy.

Unless the Brownies take AP at 3, don't be surprised if they trade down for some extra picks or a vet and get someone else they want at like 8 or 9 perhaps. I personally wouldn't mind that as long as they don't take Quinn or Branch regardless of the slot they trade down to.

I was thinking that too. However, saw this quote:

"If you are going to be in the top five, this is probably a pretty good year to be up there," Savage said.

Who the hell knows what Savage is thinking. I'd like to see them pull a move like they did when they traded down and still got Winslow who they wanted... not that I thought Winslow was a good pick.

They traded up, one flipping spot, and gave up a second rounder too, for Winslow. Doing something stupid like that would definitely turn a lot more fans away from the franchise.
