Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

I'm hoping they package Braylon along with another early to mid round draft pick for another 1st Round pick and a shot at Ginn. I know it's not likely, but I can dream.

:scum4:

This won't be a popular opinion coming from an OSU fan, but what does Teddy bring to the table that would make you want him besides blinding speed and the fact that he went to OSU? From an NFL prosective he doesn't have great hands and still needs work on his route running. I don't picture him as a primarly WR at least for a few years. The Browns just signed Cribbs for 6 years so they don't need a returner.
If you want a Buckeye with a mid to late first round pick how about Pitcock? Not sexy, but he could grow into a good NT. That way they could get Gonzo in the second to take Edwards spot. That is assuming they sign Steinbach and draft AP first. I still prefer Thomas.

Yeah, it's just mostly the tOSU fan inside me making this wish. I know he, nor that position is a glaring need for us. I really don't think you can knock his WR abilities as much as you guys are. I don't think his hands are a liability and blinding speed makes up for a lot of mistakes. He is just such and incredible athlete and he can change a game in a heart beat. He makes big plays and can take the ball to the house on any touch, you just don't get that with everyone. But, yes, the Browns have more pressing needs, agreed.

Blinding speed is great but everyone can run on the NFL level.

Ginn will probably be a pretty good WR, but the Browns need to go elsewhere in this draft.

Ding, ding, ding, ding. Drafting a WR shouldn't even a thought this early. I was initially against drafting AD, but am warming up to that. I like Thomas, but am beginning to like Branch more. He's a HUGE body to put at NT and was probably the reason the scUM front seven was so good for most of the year. Everything I've heard is that he's a good kid and a pretty hard worker as well.

...and yes, that mock does suck.

Just because they don't agree with who Browns fans would like to see doesn't meant the whole mock sucks. I also think their 2nd round choice sucked (Hello, move one of the top C in the game so they can draft another?)

I think Meriweather is about as likely to be a Bengal as I am, but it is more a matter of slotting needs vs. grades and filling the gaps. Overall, it is just as good (or bad) as any other.

Pitcock's mindset may change once he gets into the pros, but he has said, ever since high school, that fat guys are over 300 lbs. Which is probably why he's consistently maintained his weight between 285 and 295 during his time at tOSU. At under 300 lbs. He might develop into a 3-4 DE, or a 4-3 DT, but I don't see him ever being an NT. Like I said. His mindset might change, but right now I don't think it's a good idea for the Browns to take him, unless they want him as a DE.

Notable Buckeyes...Rd 1: Teddy to SF, Rd 2: Pitcock to TB, Troy to Jax, Gonzo to Hou.

I found the Bungles second rounder rather humorous.

They are absolutely kidding themselves by thinking that Adrian Peterson will go 8th....

And if the Browns draft Brady Quinn they'll truly be dead to me....at least until they realize in 4 years that he's a miserable failure/Tim Couch lookalike and bring in Matt Hasselback for a one year contract while drafting the next hotshot QB out of the SEC....

I'd also like to know exactly WHAT Brady Quinn has done to make them think he's a "elite talent".....he's never proven it on the field and just because he has a good arm won't mean a damn thing behind that sieve of an offensive line....

Its a bad draft.

- Okoye is to high
- Ginn is an awful pick for the 49ers
- Why would the Steelers draft Lynch?
- Carriker is a better fit for the 3-4
- Jarvis Moss isn't a first rounder
- Patriots aren't taking a WR in the first
- Grubbs isnt a first rounder

His 2nd round was awful. Kalil is a 3rd rounder, not early 2nd, and Bentley isn't coming back any day soon.
