Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

Pitcock's mindset may change once he gets into the pros, but he has said, ever since high school, that fat guys are over 300 lbs. Which is probably why he's consistently maintained his weight between 285 and 295 during his time at tOSU. At under 300 lbs. He might develop into a 3-4 DE, or a 4-3 DT, but I don't see him ever being an NT. Like I said. His mindset might change, but right now I don't think it's a good idea for the Browns to take him, unless they want him as a DE.
The Browns could certainly use Pitcock at DE their defensive line is horrible and needs all the help that they can get.

Haven't chimed in and haven't read the entire thread, but as a lifelong Browns fan I can only hope that the Browns take Joe Thomas or Adrian Peterson.

AP scares me because of his aggressive running style. I'm not sure how he'll hold up to an NFL pounding.

Thomas seems to me to be a can't miss for Cleveland. They are in desperate need of O linemen and Thomas is a stud. If teams truly draft based on need then Thomas is it. If he's not available then bring in Peterson.

Pretty solid mock.

Hall was exposed the last two games... he struggled to stay with Jarrett, who is hardly a burner. I expect him to run a pretty mediocre 40.

Jarrett has serious ability but inconsistent hands... will they worry about that given the track record of Williamson?

Two safeties in the first round? Nelson should sneak into the mid/late first... but I don't think Meriweather will, especially with character issues after the brawl. Then again, maybe you have him one spot too early

I've seen the Griffin to Philly prediction elsewhere, and absolutely love it. Dawkins and Griffin would be a vicious set of hitters.

The biggest knack on Hall is his speed. He is still a top 10 pick imo.

I don't see the issue with Jarrett's hands, he might some amazing catches vs. ND and UM.

I like Nelson where he is, and Meriweather is a first round talent. He played CB this year, and I think teams will like his versatility. Attitude is a concern though. With this draft being kind of weak in talent, I think a team will gamble for him.

Griffin to Philly would be a HR for them.

Its a bad draft.

- Okoye is to high
- Ginn is an awful pick for the 49ers
- Why would the Steelers draft Lynch?
- Carriker is a better fit for the 3-4
- Jarvis Moss isn't a first rounder
- Patriots aren't taking a WR in the first
- Grubbs isnt a first rounder

His 2nd round was awful. Kalil is a 3rd rounder, not early 2nd, and Bentley isn't coming back any day soon.

You're just disappointed that he did not have BQ going to the Browns.

I doubt the Eagles take a safety. Their primary needs are at linebacker and giving Westbrook a bruising back to share the load. I expect their first pick to be a linebacker. Trotter's getting old, and their outside linebackers are horrible.

If I am Leon Hall I dont even show up to the combine. If the draft were today he would have a shot to go in the middle of the 1st, but after he bombs at the combine he'll be picked at the end of the 1st day.

Lets not get to biased here. His biggest negative is his lack of speed.

He was a four year starter on a top defense. Thats unheard of these days.

Hes slow.

Hes short. (Probably below the 5'11" hes listed at.)

Whenever he faced a good wide reciever he got burned .

Not hard to be a four year starter when the corners behind you are Morgan Trent and......no one else....

Besides being false (03 = Curry + Jackson), that's misleading (ie Dustin Fox). They certainly weren't a top pass defense, and only resembled a good overall defense once in the 3 years he started. The front 7's dominance against inferior offenses protected their secondary for 11 games. When they ran into better OL & QB play, the secondary was torched by short, intermediate and deep routes. Hall is a very physical corner, but he struggled way too much lately to be top-10 material, imo.

Overview: Veteran scouts will tell you that players who were good enough to start on a quality team as a freshman tend to be the safest picks come April. If that is indeed the case, Hall might be the best player in the nation. Hall has played in every game of his career with the Wolverines, earning recognition after each of his first three seasons. Hall was recognized as a Freshman All-American in 2003 and has earned all-conference honors after both his sophomore and junior campaigns.

I find it interesting that the knack on every Michigan player except Alan Branch is the fact that "they played with lots of talent." I really think its ridiculous to say that Branch alone enabled Woodley to get sacks and Hall to stick with his man.

Well then I suppose you should take up your argument with everyone else, b/c I'm not interested in discussing Woodley, Harris, Burgess, etc. I think Hall got exposed badly in the past two games, much like what happened to "All Americans" Marlin Jackson & Ernest Shazor. It wasn't just superstars giving him trouble either, as seen by Robo's broken tackle.

how do you feel Hall did covering WRs in the last two games? Does that not impact his draft stock? He was projected as a 6-10 pick before 11/18.

I could understand it if he had excellent measurables or was a bit raw (ie Gamble), but he is fairly polished imo. I think he's more of a mid-first pick.
