Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

Not sure I understand all of the Brady Quinn hate on this thread.

Seems to me like people's hatred of Notre Dame is clouding their judgement a bit.

Quinn's a hell of a QB. You talk about him not being worth a damn behind a shitty line like in Cleveland. Well, he didn't exactly play behind the best line at Notre Dame either and amassed most of his yards without much of a running game either.

Also, aren't the Browns expecting LeCharles Bentley back next year assuming his staph infection has cleared up?

If the brownies arent going to address the lines then I would much rather see them get BQ and Peterson so the can get beat up before any Buckeyes get there.
I agree thump Quinn is not that bad a QB

Quinn could be a very good NFL QB. But he isn't what Cleveland really needs at this point in time. That was the original point. :ohwell:

I don't know. Wasn't there a rumor that he was going to need another knee surgery as well??

He won't play next year. He needs ANOTHER surgery on his left patellar, and he can't get that surgery until his last surgery heals, which is another 4-5 monthes.

Really sucks.

You obviously dislike Quinn. I'd like to see Peterson here just as much, but if both BQ and AD are there, then I say we take BQ. Phil will probably take BQ as hes a BPA guy.

Nothing personal against the guy, I just don't think he's the best pick for the Cleveland QB.

To the point that if they pick him, I might have to ignore the Browns for a while. It would be obvious to me that they are looking for quick fixes instead of actually building a team to win at that point.

And in 3 years Brady Quinn would look like Tim Couch or David Carr.....with probably as many sacks taken....

Hey what better way to continue the Cleveland traditions of picking unpopular players, or 2nd tier talent. or has beens to keep their winning ways alive :wink2:

They need EVERYTHING. Why not start with a QB if a quality lineman like Thomas isn't available?

The Browns haven't proven to me that they know how to draft worth a damn anyways so I personally don't think it matters who they draft.

Unless the Raiders take another tackle with their first pick, which is possible I guess, I think Thomas will be there....

Well there is that as well. It seems to me that they can't find a formula that works, if they ever had one to begin with....

Does my hatred of Notre Dame cloud my judgment on Quinn? Absolutely.

But what clouds my judgment the most is 1) His inability to win a big game. 2) Inability to pass under pressure.

The guy simply folds like a tent when any defense shows that it has a pulse. (And in case you haven't noticed, they know how to blitz in Baltimore and Pittsburgh)
