All right, all right, all right.

Haha I thought it was sour grapes when CBF40 said that was a stupid move. :(

NFBuck;717654; said:Well, Carson Palmer's college career was 5 years ago and I didn't follow USC, but I do know he won the Heisman Trophy, so apparently he did have some memorable plays and performed well against competition. As for Alex Smith, he was the first pick in what may be one of the most mediocre drafts talent wise in recent memory. There was no consensus number one pick that year...he was #1 by default. On top of that, I really doubt he ever becomes much more than a decent NFL QB.
NFBuck;717654; said:Buckguy pretty much covered it as far as Quinn goes. He led a comeback against a dreadful MSU team. Whoopdee freakin' doo. He barely beat a mediocre UCLA team. Don't give me a "they beat USC" excuse either. That was a rivalry game, and we all know crazy things happen in rivalry games. Well, unless it's USC-NoD, we pretty much know how that one goes.
Bottom line is this: Quinn had a grand total of ZERO big wins in four years of college. I suppose you could say he beat scUM last year (2005), but scUM was bad last year (2005). He has shown with alarming regularity that he is prone to panicking and making mistakes when pressured. I don't want him in a Browns uniform. Would just be Tim Couch the sequel. I'd rather have Thomas, AP (provided he comes out), or hell, even Alan Branch than Quinn.
Again, this isn't a personal thing I have against Quinn because he's a Domer. I just don't think he's the answer for the Browns. We have many more pressing needs than a QB that need to be addressed, beginning with the lines. I'm just sick of all these high draft picks not helping to really improve the organization, Wimbley being the exception. Frustrating as hell. It's like watching the Bungles of the nineties all over again. I'm afraid drafting Quinn would be David Klingler all over again. Wait, I guess technically Couch would have been our Klingler, making Quinn our Akili Smith. Hell, whatever; I just think drafting Quinn would be a huge mistake.
NFBuck;717937; said:Ryan Leaf had the frame, arm and intelligence to be dominent. Palmer won the friggin' Heisman, and as pointed out above, did quite well against solid competition as a Senior. Sorry, why are you bringing up Jay Cutler again?

king rhabuf;717644; said:Butch recruited Kellen at the U, and Kellen is an amazing TE. Sean Jones was a great 2nd round pick too. Those guys have been the best players we've ever gotten in the first two rounds.
When Chris Palmer is the coach, stability goes out the window.
Check your facts. It was ranked 31st in the NFL. Awful against the run.
His names Brady Quinn.

If they take Brady Quinn I hope they go 0-16 every year he starts for them. Who is this AD you are talking about? Anthony Davis isn't in this draft dammit. Adrian Peterson would be a good pickup but they can cut Shaffer any time they wish.....Again, we have Shafer at LT for better or for worse. We aren't taking Thomas with the money we've invested into Shafer. AD would be great if BQ is taken.

Actually that is true. I have it on good authority.StadiumDorm;718260; said:Rumor has it that AP didn't want to come out unless he had assurances that he wouldn't be drafted by Detroit or Cleveland.
Just kidding.

You truly need reading comprehension....
The offense needs to help the defense. If your defense is on the field for 40 minutes a game, it's going to give up yards. Take at look at who was the worst team against the run this year and look where THEY are.
Fat Chuck is that you??

king rhabuf;718249; said:whose that guy we drafted in the first round the year after
i think he goes by braylon
BuckeyeMike80;718268; said:and he's both from scUM and drops every other pass throw his direction...
That really worked out didn't it????
The only thing that would be WORSE for the Browns to do would be to draft Brady Quinn. Winslow, at least, HAS TALENT and playmaking ability. He doesn't fold like Brady Quinn does when he gets hit.
Big Papa;718266; said:Wow, that was brutal. King, you just got slapped around. :box:

king rhabuf;718310; said:first off, AD = adrian peterson. thats his nicknameDidn't know that. I always though it was AP....
Braylon came back from his knee injury EXTREMELY fast. He deserves the benefit of the doubt. Expect big things from him this year.
It won't matter a damn if he either has A) Brady Quinn throwing the ball or B) no offensive line to give the QB time to get him the ball....
Beyond that he's going to drop the ball.

he also didnt think we had a first round pick in 2005
