Buckguy pretty much covered it as far as Quinn goes. He led a comeback against a dreadful MSU team. Whoopdee freakin' doo. He barely beat a mediocre UCLA team. Don't give me a "they beat USC" excuse either. That was a rivalry game, and we all know crazy things happen in rivalry games. Well, unless it's USC-NoD, we pretty much know how that one goes.
Bottom line is this: Quinn had a grand total of ZERO big wins in four years of college. I suppose you could say he beat scUM last year (2005), but scUM was bad last year (2005). He has shown with alarming regularity that he is prone to panicking and making mistakes when pressured. I don't want him in a Browns uniform. Would just be Tim Couch the sequel. I'd rather have Thomas, AP (provided he comes out), or hell, even Alan Branch than Quinn.
Again, this isn't a personal thing I have against Quinn because he's a Domer. I just don't think he's the answer for the Browns. We have many more pressing needs than a QB that need to be addressed, beginning with the lines. I'm just sick of all these high draft picks not helping to really improve the organization, Wimbley being the exception. Frustrating as hell. It's like watching the Bungles of the nineties all over again. I'm afraid drafting Quinn would be David Klingler all over again. Wait, I guess technically Couch would have been our Klingler, making Quinn our Akili Smith. Hell, whatever; I just think drafting Quinn would be a huge mistake.
