they are both great players, Durant is amazing on offense pretty much scores at will, but I would have to take Oden over him. Has anyone seen Durant play any D? He doesn't and i think that when he gets in the league it will be exposed when he just can't stand in the middle of the lane in a zone he is going ot have to match up with someone. He may score his points but whoever he is guarding will have just as many, and that is why i say Oden over Durant. Oden gets it done on both ends.

Not to mention the fact that he's thin as a rail. Until he bulks up, he'll just get pushed around in the NBA, and that will decrease his effectiveness enormously.

i don't agree with "enormously." sure, he needs to add some bulk. considering, however, that he just turned eighteen, it's very likely that he'll add muscle and overall weight. regardless, his future impact will not be determined by his weight or strength. as a 3/4 with the wingspan of a 5, he'll create a lot of problems for his opponents in the money league, offensively and defensively.

Easy...meant as a joke.

I no longer watch the NBA because of how showboaty it is and everyone's "it's all about me" mentality.
Oh, man. I cannot understand how anyone could watch Stevie Nash and the Suns and make this comment. Great team hoop is being played by that team; Utah Jazz is really good too.

two out of how many teams??
Well, San Antonio, Dallas, Detroit and the Knicks (yes; watch them sometime!) also play sound team ball. I agree that some teams play selfish hoop, but the upside is that those teams seldom get very far in the playoffs. Plus, the Suns are usually the team that gets the most TV exposure.

It's a myth that the NBA is a poor brand of basketball - conjured up by those who couldn't get past the hangover of Jordan leaving the Bulls. The same fans that criticize the style of play in the league have completely failed to recognize that the teams on tv play the kind of ball they "say" they want to see.

now how do you address the way the game is officiated, its pathetic. it will be a long time, if iever that the nba will get me to watch more than a handful of reg season bball games again...

It's simple. The officials suck. They can't keep up with these guys, and they blow calls on a regular basis. Certainly that's not enough of a deficiency to warrant a boycott though.

i dont "boycott" it, ill watch a solid chunk of the playoff games (half or a little more, which is about all the time i have to give to tv) they just cant get me to switch from a good hockey game, a college bball game (if its decent, im not going to watch patriot league womens games over it) or some other tv show thats on thats decent over the nba. put simply a big time nba showdown between two teams like dallas and phx would not get me to tune in, if im free ill watch, but usually i find something better on tv.

but i agree with you, if they could fix the officiating and make it so players didnt pick up their dribble at half court for a dunk, stop anticipating everything, deciding whether or not everything is foul based on whether or not the shot goes in etc, id be more likely to watch than the "style" of play.

on the thuggish view of the game, look at the 90s, how many fights and stuff were going on then? it was happening all the time. reggie miller seemed like his lanky arms were always hitting someone or wrestling with someone, but i watched then. the game isnt any more "thug" now as it was then, maybe more tats, but thats about it...
