Doug Gottleib siad Durant was the best player in CBB, but Oden was the better pro prospect.

He compared Durant to KG and saild be hry should hey shoud Durant's a much better shooter than KG was at the same age.

THATS ONETHING THAT IDIOT SAID THAT MAKES SENSE. He's a tracy mcgrady in a KG body already. and when they try to compare him with Oden is a joke. True center to a combo of PF/SF. WHAT THE HECK HOW ABOUT DURANT and CONLEY:! DIIFFERENT TYPE OF PLAYERS

wingate1217 stole my thunder with "Oden vs Ditka"

Durant looked great last night, and in the game thread I posted that he looked ahead of Oden and I'll stick by that based on his health and his versatility. Oden is a different type of player, he's not gonna put up 35 in ANY game, its not his game. His game is shot-blocking, rebounding, and opportunistic points. People really don't like to compare him to anyone, I remember watching Nate Thurmond as a kid, and I see alot of that in Oden.

texas/osu are like the same teams. When I first watched texas play I thought they were a top 3 team then, they lose to an average team. They have some young studs to but, just like OSU they don't show up every game. One game all fans a pround the next your like what the f,,,,,,

This is comparing apples to Oranges...

But is a good discussion when you talk about the impact they are having on their teams...

Both would of been 1-2 in the NBA draft last year if they would of not gone to college.

At this point I think it is more of what your team needs and we need Oden as Texas needs Durant.

I think overall a guy like Oden makes your team better especially if you have scorers like cook, Lewis, Butler, Harris, etc. around him. As he can get his easy buckets when they come but more importantly be a total force on the opposite end. Especially in the zone.

Durant is more of scorer and an impossible matchup on the offensive end. Anyone tall enough to contend his shots is not quick enough to stay with him. Also as someone mentioned he is one of Texas' main rebounders this being the reason he is pulling in all those rebounds.

Either way I think it is 1A and 1B in terms of where they are at in the running for Frosh of the year, but I think Oden could take off if/when he gets that cast off. He would probably avg. 2-4 more pts a game with ball he hasnt been able to catch or make a move with and maybe a little 5ft jump hook with his right hand. Also his rebounds will go up 1-2 as he will be able to grab more of them.

Overall it is great to have to see both of them in college bball instead of struggling in the NBA to get adjusted to the game...

Everyone seems to be comparing the newest freshman stud to Oden. Never to another freshman stud. Always Oden. That tells me that Oden is the measuring stick for every freshman this year. I can take the constant comparisons. The fact that they keep using Oden tells me that everyone already knows who's really the best.

I couldn't have said it better myself...

Durant looks exactly like KG, I like to watch him play.

Oden is Oden, he compares to no one. His presence alone on the defensive end totally changes the oppositions inside game.

Durant, at this point and time, looks to be more interested in being a perimeter player. That and he appeared to wear down today.

Oden is a post player and will always be a post....

one on one I'm taking Oden....

I wouldn't call the debate ridiculous-Oden was toying w/ guys 6'7 and shorter, and Durant was well defended and admitted so. Both of these guys will be playing in the Olympics someday, oden had his best game of the year on the day Durant had his worst.
