Their are only three teams in the top 10 of the new BCS poll that have an SOS in the top 20 those teams are #4 Oklahoma (SOS is 5th), #7 Georgia (SOS is 6th), and #9 OHIO STATE (SOS IS 17Th). Yea seriously...Being undefeated and winning convincingly in a day and age where it's damn near impossible to go undefeated..How could anyone believe that penn state is a "good team"...

Odd thing is IF OSU wins,then that will be their HUGE win for the year right? Why is it a big win if PSU isn't worth a damn? Why even say "if Ohio State beats them saturday"...Why is it even a discussion?

It's funny to me that people bitch about PSU being ranked high,but get upset when reading things about the "SEC". I,for one am glad that the big ten has more then one quality team that is at least going to be considered for a national title bid (osu or psu). If penn state wins saturday I would be happy to see them get a chance for a national title bid.

Hahah good one. But yeah its a pretty even match-up. Obviously royster has the more reception yards but beanie was out for two games and has been a huge factor in the past games that he has been back. he may not be the one running the ball but him just being on the field takes some of the focus off of pryor and allows him to possibly get more yards while scrambling.

Even? No, it's not. If you go by stats, Greene from Iowa, and Ringer are both better than Beanie. I don't believe any of that horseshit. Stats are for baseball.

I have no beef with PSU being highly touted...the problem is, right now everyone is kissing their ass but if/when we beat them, pollsters will rebuttal and say they must have been overrated for us to beat them (I can hear Mark May already). The fact is people dislike us so much right now nationally, that previously respected teams were simply "misrepresented" pre-OSU demolishing ala MSU. The same thing will happen when we decimate Northwestern. Moral of the story...Lose/lose for us. If we beat them, they were overrated, if they beat us, we choked on the big stage again. That being said, I hope we punch them in the mouth all night long.

Who cares? If it did happen,it would only bring praise to the big ten. I don't want to see them win saturday,but if they did I will definitely want to see them win out. It would be nice to see another team from the big ten make it to the national spotlight. At this point the conference needs it.It would be nice to have another team on the schedule that would be worth big points year in and out imo.

Of course Penn State is for real. :wink: They're unbeaten and ranked #3 in the country. They have a powerful offense which generates exciting highlights for the sports media, and are coached by a legendary and lovable old crumudgeon. Penn State is excellent and a legitimate contender for the BCS title game...

...and any team which beats them must be even more awesome. Right? :biggrin:

Gosh, where would someone even find such a team of superhumans? Any such team must by definition be one of the very best in the country if they can derail the Nittany Lion machine.

Co-sign. Guys like Royster, Greene, Moreno, McCoy, and Ringer come along quite frequently in college football(though Moreno is probably a cut above the rest). Beanie is on a whole other level. He, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, and Darren McFadden are those rare superstar types that are almost impossible to stop. It's really sad to think college football will never see a healthy mature Beanie Wells, save for the first half of the YSU game this year. Closest thing to Jim Brown since Jim Brown and no one outside of Columbus even realizes it.

If JoePa wins a National Championship, I see it as very likely that he will finally retire. Going out on top is the best way to go. If they beat us, and that is a big if, I will be happy to see them win a National Championship. Yes, their fans would be insufferable in their bragging. But, it would be better than their fans being incredibly bitter and hazing visiting Ohio State fans. Happy Valley would once again be happy. And, the Big Ten would gain a ton of glory.

Knowing what it will take for PSU to get there, I hope it doesn't happen. But, if it does happen, they will have my full support. Why? JoePa.

I think he is. To clarify, I personally believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that an opinion does not determine whether someone is right or wrong. I'd love to see some factual support for your argument.
