As much as I hate to say this, I'm not completely convinced. Offenses that are above average have put points up against that PSU defense. If Ohio State had an above average offense, they would have won that game.
I think there is a very real possibility that Penn State will get smoked like a cheap cigar in the NC game.
Then again, I think there is a decent (1 in 4 maybe) chance that they lose to Iowa. If they go in flat, thinking the conference is in the bag, the Hawkeyes will beat them.
1) The only 2 offenses that put points on PSU were Mich and ILL, and Mich was blanked the second half.
2) Yes, the possibility of a team getting smoked in the NC game exists, but don't be surprised if it's the other way around.
3) Agree again, Iowa looks dangerous all of a sudden. But there were even more doubts about this team coming in to ILL, IA, and OSU.
Both teams were conservative last night and OSU could have won the game. But why would you put down your offense and not give any credit to the defense? USC held you guys to 74yds rushing in LA without Beanie and TP was in his first game. PSU held you guys to 60yds rushing in Columbus and still no respect. It's not an accident that PSU tried to stop OSU from running.
After every PSU win this season, everyone kept saying that we haven't played a real team. Then everyone said that OSU will beat PSU. Now that PSU wins, OSU wasn't good on offense. If they opened up the offense last night and put 400yds on OSU, then you'd probably say that OSU "mailed it in".
Good luck to the Buckeyes the rest of the season and hopefully you'll make it to a BCS bowl and blow out whoever you play. The Big10 is not as weak and the SEC isn't as good as people think. Here's hoping that PSU, OSU, MSU, MINN, IA, ILL, and WISC would put a hurting on whoever we face in the bowls.
