Just got home from the game.

What a game!!! The hat trick of greatness: The game was great, the Navy paratroopers were great, and the band's halftime drone show was great. It was "electric" in the stadium, one of the loudest games that I remember. Besides Ohio State fans cheering there was a large group of "domers" in the section a few rows behind me. They were chanting "Let's go Irish" most of the game (until late in the 3rd quarter) when Ohio State went ahead. After Ohio State scored again in the 4th quarter and went up 2 scores they took their own "Let's go Irish" advice and left.....

If you thought that was a cheap shot deserving of ejection then you don’t get to complain when a Buckeye gets ejected for a weak targeting call. Buckeye up. That’s just football.

I agree. I've probably seen a play where that guy gets ejected, but I don't think it should be targeting.
I'm no rules nerd, but I think that by the letter of the rule, it wasn't targeting. JSN was not a defenseless receiver - he was a runner at that point.

i think ND underestimated how much patterson's injury would weaken them.
knowles and co did a great job taking away opportunities when buchner was scrambling or on designed QB runs. got burned a couple times early, but then knowles brought help.
as well, knowles said in his postgame presser that he was trying to keep things basic so the guys can play fast. and that showed in the 2nd half.

For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the O, they put up almost 250 yards in the second half without JSN. That’s not shabby.

Kind of a general question. I am both lucky and unlucky to be at work during games. I'm in charge of making the game is on. Among many other potential things. So I didn't get to laser in on the first half. It seemed like there were opportunities, but the Buckeyes weren't quite clicking. Fair to say? Or was ND just getting after it?
