Im just not sure I agree….
With defensive players, yes, that is likely.
Defensive players is all they need, and a little more OL.
Hartline and Day have recruited at such an absurd level that anyone that follows them will make people very angry.
RB is not that hard to recruit well. Henderson is a specimen, but look what Miyan did tonight.
They manned up and won a tough game. Whether ND holds up is immaterial for recruits tonight. This was a huge statement for a team accused of being (and occasionally resembling) a 7v7 team last year.
There were 10 five stars there.
All 3 seniors were DL. They hit home runs with them.
The other 7?
S Bolden
LB Brown
DE Houston
S Woodyard
WR Wingo
WR/CB Trader - osu lean
WR Smith - heavy lean
Did they need a dominant defensive performance and revival of their manhood? Yes, and they got it in a big way.
OSU stumbled a little in their first game without 2 first round WRs and the even better Jaxon plus the other veteran 5-star Fleming. That's not remotely hard to recruit around after how they've performed and produced.
The 2021 defensive tape? That's a huge problem and they just threw it away. And every recruit in attendance only has to wait 0-1 years for Hall, JTT, Sawyer, Williams to be draft eligible.
Winning 21-10 probably impressed the 3 5* DEs we had there more than winning 55-35. Those were the most important uncommitted players there in the 2023 class.
Precisely.
Harline recruited
'19 5* Wilson, high 4* Williams
'20 5* Fleming, 5* Jaxon, high 4* Scott, high 4* Cooper
'21 5* Egbuka, high 4* Harrison, high 4* Ballard
'22 high 4* Brown, Graves... 4* Burton, Antwi
'23 5* Innis, Tate, high 4* Rogers, Rodgers
(and Burton was a 5* at one point)
Heavy favorite to get Smith. In the game for Wingo.
And day has recruited Fields, Stroud, Ewers, Brown, Raiola, etc.
This game didn't need more tape beyond what Jaxon and CJ did in the Rose Bowl.
