Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Notre Dame, Alabama, undefeated and on track for the BCS NC game and Manti Teo heading towards the Heisman backed by the New Yoirk and Chicago. The best team in the Big Ten staying home over the holidays. The only good conclusion I can see is a meteor strike just before kickoff. This is one of the worst football season's in a long time.

I think if Kansas State, Oregon, and Alabama all finish undefeated, ND will be left out.

ND might have the only front 7 that can consistently win the down against Bama. Oregon sure as hell won't. KState, maybe.

That said. I remember my post (think it was the 1st season after Kelly was hired) saying ND won't be relevant until they get
back to running the football and playing defense.

They've done just that. I'll give them serious credit when its due - a fine football team.

I still fucking hate them though.

Wanna bet?

Human polls are still the majority of the BCS total. There is no way undefeated Notre Dame gets left out.

The only redeeming qualities are the Buckeyes being 9-0 (still enjoying the wins), and the fact that the closet Ohio State/(Notre Dame) fans bubble to the surface and reveal themselves to us when ND is winning.

I like to know when I'm dealing with a "Buckeye fan" who is conflicted by the Domers. That's why I wish we played them every year. :roll1:

Check out the size of the media in Manhatten, Kansas - they're toast even if Notre Dame drops a close game to USC. Same, same the Portland market. If all three teams are undefeated Notre Dame will carry the Chicago and New York-Boston-Philly-Baltimore markets. Neither KState or Oregon has the TV appeal that an Alabama - ND game holds. You can bet the TV folks can add up the revenue projections and let their voice be heard- computer, polls, sos be damned.

And frankly, after the last three weeks - Stanford, BYU and Okie- plus the sweep of the Big 10, I think ND looks like best of the bunch after Alabama.

Win or lose, I wish ND would face the Buckeyes every year, or at least regularly. It would put my house and family at odds, especially on my wife's family where they also root for both teams but lean more on the OSU side. Still, I think if the Irish would remain consistently playing good football year in and year out, an Irish vs. tOSU matchup would be good for college football. It would be a matchup like the game last night against the Sooners, except even bigger. Thats a tall order though to ask the Irish to play consistent good football at this point. While this year has been special thusfar for Notre Dame, we'll have to see how they perform next year with Te'o gone. He's a big part of this team.

Actually, it's a pretty impressive college town and bring in someone from - oh let's say New Zealand- who's never seen either town/campus and has no reason to favor either and ask them to select the more pleasing town/campus. Ann Arbor [strike]wins hand down[/strike] IS A WHORE.

fixed.

I was reading this while meeting some family out for breakfast. Thinking " I understand
Completely". Yet feeling blessed to not see much ND rubbish in town. Then this family
Walks in wearing a full set of ND sweaters. Not good sweaters. I mean those short
Barely get-to-your wrist 90's looking, bill Cosby motherfuckers.

Then I was annoyed.

LMAO..Yes I've seen these..

and the green ones a ton more often lately. It's as if Irish fans from the 70's have decided to make themselves known. I'm sure they can't keep em on the shelves at Goodwill or the Salvation Army anymore.

was sitting there the entire time watching that game knowing Oklahoma had plenty of opportunities to take it over and couldn't do anything.

I think worse was the inability of Stoops' O-Line to pick up what appeared to my eye to be very vanilla blitz packages.
