Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Hokeing Domers.

Their seat in the ACC isn't even warm yet, and they're already back to their parasitic take-and-never give ways. Their game against Boston College in Boston will be-----wait for it------a Notre Dame "home game."

And here's the legendary arrogance from a piece of human paraquat who should have been indicted for negligent manslaughter.

Maintaining games with traditional opponents Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan and Pittsburgh weren't as high a priority. Swarbrick said he took it as a compliment so many people got upset the Irish won't be playing them as often.

''I can't think of a higher form of flattery for Notre Dame football, that people got so upset at the prospect of losing games with us,'' he said.

Do these schools that crawl into bed with ND have any self-respect whatsoever?

I particularly like how dumb Swarbrick looks with this:

Yeah... yeah... losing to ND has been a major problem for teams in recent history. :slappy:

No room on the schedule for Big Ten teams, yet they just scheduled Nevada-Reno.....because you know that's a marquee opponent with tons of history.

I thought a lot of Buckeyes didn't want the B1G scheduling ND at all? Why are people upset that the Irish are dropping them now?

Also, in 2016 when they play Nevada they're also starting the season with Texas in Austin, then later Michigan State, Stanford, Miami, VT (Who may or may not suck by then), and USC in Southern Cal. The rest of the games aren't worth mentioning, but that's not a shabby schedule. Adding another B1G team would be a bit painful.

I don't care who ND plays.

The ACC is welcome to them.
I do. I care because if you thought an undefeated Boise State got a lot of love for playing nobody, just hang on until ND goes through a box of marshmallows and USC. They'll be able to pick their opponents for the playoffs and have one of the games moved to Ireland.

To be fair, no one out of the top 15 programs plays more than three games in a season with someone with equal, or near equal, assets - stadium, fan base, income, training facilities, recruiting budget - no one.

Right now, 2016 looks like a tough schedule, but Michigan State, Va Tech, and Stanford are not consistent top 15 programs. Texas and USC are.

Right now I'm not even sure Texas and USC could be considered "consistent top 15 programs". Neither is top-15 right now, at least imo. With both getting new HCs this year, I'm not sure what to expect 3 years from now. Either the experiments will have paid off and we can talk about them being consistent again, or they'll be on their last legs and about to be fired.
Three years from now, it wouldn't surprise me if MSU and Stanford are the more consistent programs. Both coaches seem happy at their current location and churning out fairly consistent programs, albeit Dantonio has down years.

This was about the only good information that came out yesterday for the Irish after it was reported that starting WR Davaris Daniels would miss Spring practices under academic suspension, starting TE Troy Niklas adds his name to the list of players declaring for the Draft, and 3 star CA commit (And a body for our weak DT depth) Matt Dickerson decommitted and switched to nearby UCLA after they found out his father has cancer (Great kid, wish his father speedy recovery).

The players are pretty excited about the change to UA. ND originally went to Adidas in '97, leaving Champion, and was one of their biggest if not their biggest client at the time. Michigan eventually switched to Adidas and their "Sun and Blue," and became the preferential Adidas customer with a huge contract. Under UA the Irish will be one of the largest brands if not the largest under the company.

Touchdown Jebus is going to look awesome on the side of your helmets.

The general feeling is that UA will make some small changes to the uniform, and of course put their stamp on it, but the university wants it to remain much as it is. They'll probably let UA go crazy with any hideous designs for the one time "Shamrock Series" game that occurs each season. Also, the helmet isn't rumored to change at all, I guess a different company handles those since they're no longer painted.
