Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Yeah, try that sea of red crap with us.

Wait...never mind.

Yeah, I know - just doesn't work as well against an opponent who's main color is ALSO red, huh?

It sure embarrassed the 'Domers though. Based on that game, they changed their ticket rules/policies after that. I think you now have to show photo ID to get in with a student or faculty ticket.

A lot of self-serving domer drivel and playing the victim. Of which, Gordon Gee gives zero [censored]s.

The part below, however, is not getting enough love. Yost was truly and utterly corrupt and exerted influence over the UofM administration that would make JoePed drool with envy, and his refusal to relinquish that administrative control actually led to their actually being kicked out of the Big Ten for several years prior to WWI. He was the very model of the corrupt pay-to-play NCAA football program.

Michigan's longstanding unethical tactics are exposed in a study by the Carnegie Report on college athletics. The report cited Michigan as "among the least fortunate" of 100 schools investigated in the manner in which both the University and its alumni clubs provided loans, jobs and other forms of aid to athletes. That same year, the Big Ten Commissioner denounced the report and called Michigan "an ideal" for other college athletic programs regarding ethics.

That too :) Although, one of the complaints about playing in South Bend is typically the cold weather complaints among recruits that come in from the south and west coast. The other big complaint is usually that South Bend is small, you have to drive to Chicago for big city entertainment.

The weather, the remoteness and the football coach killed a kid would be my top 3.

No, I think you can still get in with just a student ticket, but they don't let you leave and once a ticket has been scanned by the scanners it's not eligible for another admission.

I was at that overtime game in 2000 in South Bend, hell of a game! You Husker fans travel well, and were cool customers. Lots of class, didn't see the trash talk and fights that fans like Michigan brought in during those days, very friendly visitors. Bob Davie made the wrong call to sit on the ball and go into overtime though, he should have made a push to get down the field in the final minute and get the field goal, especially with his QB playing with a fractured wrist. Next to the '05 USC game and '08 Michigan game, those were some of my favorites that I got to see win or lose.
