Notre Dame (football only discussion)

The safeties are hard hitting, and Zibikowski has the speed, but aside from that their coverage is horrible, yes. The senior corners have given up an insane number of yards, the freshman CB they've been starting gives up fewer plays. Too many mental breakdowns, they're caught watching the QB a lot on the long bombs and not the guy streaking behind them. The defensive line is partly to blame too, we haven't had a decent pass rusher since Tuck and that was more of a one man show.

OK now that we have you thinking right we can talk about what they have to do. 1 have the cb's play back further to keep everything in front of them. 2. get a pass rush to pressure the qb for starters
What do you think?

I work with a ND grad who has a pretty big mouth and nothing to add to a football discussion except "Cooper was michigan's greatest coach." He kept his mouth closed all last week. Now, I never said one word about football last week because I knew he was pissed at their loss to michigan. His first words this morning were "How about my boys!" I tried to keep my mouth shut but he had a look on his face that he needed to hear something. I simply said "I'm amazed John L. Smith is still coaching at this level." Fortunately, he left my desk and went and stood at someone else's.

Everytime I see Zbikowski it's when he' tackled the guy after a 10-15 yard gain or is chasing him down from behind after a 30+ yard gain.

ND's defense hurts my eyes. This is why returning most of your starters isn't always a good thing when they're already bad. They're now just experience bad players.

He'll be back in the top 5 in a few weeks. He'll throw about 4 touchdowns a game over the next 3 to 4 weeks and everyone will forget how bad he looked at the begining of the season.
If he does that he'll be #1 in most every poll. Hell, if he does that the next two weeks he'll get to the top.

He'll have atleast 4 touchdowns against Purdue & Stanford in the next two weeks. Then the ND hype machine will start up again.
