I wouldn't say a Business Degree from ND is worthless. The Mendoza College is one of the best undergrad business schools in the country. From a grad school perspective Mendoza is still good, but it's not as highly regarded. Despite a smaller alumni base, ND's Mendoza college ranks very highly among offers for undergrad students after graduation coming in with 97% and tied for 4th nationally:

When you're talking 30 year ROI a Notre Dame degree is excellent. ND has been in the Top 10 and ranks up there with Stanford, MIT, and Harvard when it comes to return on investment:

Forbes also ranks the University at #17 overall among colleges:

That said, many ND graduates will end up making the same amount starting out as graduates of state schools. That's not a great fact when you consider they likely paid a lot more for their education. It really depends on the field you're in and what you decide to do with it. However, over a 30-40 year career ND graduates tend to do very well financially based on salary numbers from payscale.com, they rank in the Top 25 among salaries mid-career. That's why they often recruit student-athletes based on the "40 year decision" as oppose to the 4 year decision.

I've never in my life felt any brotherhood with a Notre Dame grad.

With one single exception, they've all been self-impressed jerks that I've wanted nothing to do with, from either a business or personal perspective. Professionally, the term "all hat and no cattle" comes to mind.
The subway alumni are infinitely worse

Marc Edwards on the virtues of his Notre Dame education and networking as compared to Ohio State.
The power of Notre Dame
1. Mark is from Norwood. All you need to know about Norwood - Martin Mull visited and said it was just what he had in mind for his parody show, Fernwood Tonight.

2. Mark claimed he turned down the Buckeyes to play for Notre Dame, "Because I knew they'd throw the ball to the fullback at Notre Dame." Coop made sure Nicky Sualua and Matt Keller caught a pass. Keller's for a touchdown in 96.

Anybody mind if I put a football post in this thread?

Fun fact: Over the past 20 years, Kansas football has more top-10 finishes in the coaches' poll (2: 1995, 2007) than Notre Dame (1: 2012).

To add to Tom's fun fact, Notre Dame finished unranked in 11 of those 20 years: 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014.

I'd hire Josef Goebels before I'd hire an Auburn grad.

I'm inclined to agree with Cincy. I can't think of a time where my organization has brought on an Auburn grad, or even seriously considered one.

Shooting from the hip, I can't think of another school whose academics are so underwhelming. Perhaps Florida State.
Speaking strictly of the SEC and relating it to my home in Cincinnati, I've been pretty impressed with UK undergrads.

They also both had one very Hindenburgian Head Coach lead them right down the schematic shitter...
