Head coach isn't in charge of videographers, but whether it was the AD or someone else in the Athletic Department, someone's head certainly should have rolled over that oversight.

True, but sometimes the good guys go above and beyond.

Before Ohio State was set to practice yesterday, and in an eerie foreshadowing of today’s tragedy, Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel was asked whether his team would practice inside or outside due to the weather conditions.

“I don’t know if we’ll be inside or out,” Tressel said according to the Lake County News-Herald. “It looks a little nasty. I worry about our cameramen, their well-being up there 50 feet in the air.”

The scissor lift used to videotape Irish football practices could stretch 50 feet or higher. Wind gusts exceeded 50 mph in the Columbus area Tuesday as the storm blew through; according to multiple reports, gusts in the South Bend area topped out at 51 mph around the time of today’s accident.

The Buckeyes ultimately practiced indoors yesterday.

Ah, the old Joe Pa school of thought. Pass the buck. Probably wishes he'd done more.

As far as the 4 games on his suspension for pot, I'm sure Greg wishes he would have went to school in Columbus instead. That only nets you a 1 game ban
How many games does harassment of a sexual assault victim get at ND?

If you're working at your job and someone else screws up, do you typically fall on the sword and take the heat when it was their responsibility? Seems like a bad way to go through life. That's like blaming Urban for the way Hernandez turned out. Coaches aren't responsible for everything. But hey, Tressel was a hero because he defended the kids that screwed up by keeping his mouth shut. I don't see any winners here.

If you really want to hurt ND, Jack Swarbrick should have been the one to step down, not an 8-5 coach. Jack has done more to increase ND's brand than anyone else. I agree that someone should have received blame for that accident, but it should have been administration in the AD or Irish Media.

Not sure. If they ever find one guilty I'm sure we'll find out. Shembo's case was corroborated by two witnesses and cell phone records. The victim had a history of mental illness and it was said something similar happened while she attended UD, which prompted her transfer to Saint Marys. That's not to say Shembo wasn't guilty, but it casts doubt still. There was certainly more talk about Shembo's alleged sexual assault than Michigan's rape case against Gibbons, that one was swept under the rug, lied about for 4 years and it was barely a blip on the media's radar.

Too bad every other coach in the Midwest pulled their practices inside due to safety conditions due to the weather. Did every other coach go above and beyond, or simply exercise basic common sense? This excuse is pure garbage.
